Automated Backup via CRON ??

Hi Guys

I know there are numerous threads on backing up etc on these forums however i am still unable to find what i need.

Very simply, i would like some info on how to setup automatic backup of my databases via a CRON job.

Is it possible to rig up the backup script contained within the Backup MySQL PlugIn to be executed via cron?

I think this would be an excellent addition to the FAQ section of the Help area.

Just while i am going, does anyone else find the number of forums a little daunting and never really know where to post there msgs?? I do. I know the separation of info can be a good thing, but there is also such a thing as going too far where things just become damn right confusing. Besides how often does a post neatly fit into just one category??? Anyways just my thoughts.

There are external automated db backup options - try googling and hotscripts.

I vaguely recall not having any success when trying to Cron the backup module - but that may have been down to lack of knowledge at the time. I now use a script provided by my host which they use for their own backups.

I ended up getting the script discussed in this thread http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60074 to work.

Although i might look into AutoMySqlBackup script at a later stage when i have more time.
