USPS New May 14th Shipping Module

This is the new USPS shipping module for the May 14th rates ...

Until the Production server for USPS is enabled and working, using the Staging server will give you the May 14th rates ...
Once USPS activates the new rates, you should be able to run in Production mode as usual.

**Installation**1. Be sure to backup and then remove your old files:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php
/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/usps.php

2. And replace them with the ones from this zip, making sure to put the right file in the right folder.

3. Then goto your Admin area, under Modules->Shipping, find USPS, and write down your settings. Then click Remove, then Install the USPS shipping module and configure it for your site. NOTE: There are some changes to available shipping methods. Choose what's most suitable to your shipping practices. Details available at USPS website.

Be sure to read the new USPS rules and guidelines on their new prices at: usps.com

The files in this zip can be used on Zen Cart v1.2.4 and newer.
If using Zen Cart v1.3.0 or newer, you do NOT need to edit the patched files.
If using v1.2.x, you'll need to make a small edit in one file:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php
line 13:

class usps extends base {

becomes

class usps {

REPEAT: If using Zen Cart v1.3.0 or newer, you do NOT need to edit the patched files. Just upload directly.

Re: USPS New May 14th Shipping Module

Be aware that USPS server appears to be having intermittent problems today ... :eek:

Sometimes the server is working ...

Sometimes it is delayed for 30-90+ seconds .. but gives a quote ...
NOTE: this will show the customer either a white page or appear to be "stuck" ...

Sometimes the server will give an odd error:
United States Postal Service United States Postal Service
-2147218043 - Unable to calculate international postage

Re: USPS New May 14th Shipping Module

Attachment has been updated above
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=374017#post374017

This fixes a couple rate-calc problems preventing some quotes from being offered to international customers.

You'll need to remove and re-install the module for it to work properly.
