quantity discount help - by product for 2 or more?

Help much appreciated -
I need to set only one product in a category to $10 less if 2 or more are ordered...
have spent hours reading too much info about attributes -
please could someone explain simply how to do this -

regular price of event is $99. If 2 or more are chosen, it's $89. Don't know where to set the qty of this attribute to kick in ...

I think I just got this and truly don't know how ...stumbled on prompt of 'add 5 blank quantity discounts'.

If there is a simple explan from somone on this I'd love to know - specifically - is product quantity discount different from attributes?

You are looking the the Catalog ... Products Price Manager ...

If you wish to apply discounts to a product you need to hit EDIT first ...

Then Hit the Add 5 blanks ...

You have 2 dropdowns to define on what kind of discount and whether to basis it on Price or Special ...

You can have an unlimited number of discounts ... the Add 5 blanks is to Add 5 more to be defined ...

If you leave the quantity blank it will be permanently removed when you save ...

I am running version 1.2.4, which does not have the 'add 5 blank quantity discounts' button.

Is there another way of enabling quantity discounts on this version?

Anyone know how to display the cheapest 'discount' price?

I am having a similar issue...

I have a product that costs $1.50. If you buy 10 or more, it will cost $1.00 each.

The problem I am having is that after I set discount with a Min of 10, it only allows the user to buy multiples of 10... like 10, 20, 30, and not 11, 13, 15....

Another thing I do not understand is the tick box in admin that says Qty Min/ Unit Mix (yes / no) what is this for? There is the same box on the "5 blank discounts thing".

Also, what is the reason of the boxes "Qty Min" and "Qty Units"? I dont see how they relate to the "5 blank discounts".

I am trying everything but not much luck so far. Can someone enlighten me?
