AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

AustPost - improved V1.3 - what a nightmare :censored:
Australia Post Module V3.02 - is so fantastic!!!!!!!!!
**
I ended up downloading AustPost - improved because the other Australia Post Module V3.02 says its for
Z.C. Version: v1.3.0 **but it works fine on Z.C. Version v1.3.7, I could not find the contact information of the creator of Australia Post Module V3.02, can some one please see that Australia Post Module V3.02 say it it for Z.C. Version v1.3.0 to v1.3.7, as I would hate for any one else to think that they can not use this fantastic module.

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

I find since I updated my zencart from 1.3.2 to 1.3.7 Aust Post v3.02 doesn't work, I get this error in checkout

ERROR: The delivery rate for this option cannot be determined at this time
If you prefer to use this option as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.

It worked perfectly on 1.3.02, any suggestions on what happened during upgrade?
should I try to reinstall the aust post module?
I have tried deleting it in admin and reinstalling but it doesn't help

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

Does the error only come up if the customer has not put in there postcode? I found I got this error when no Australian post code was entered, so I found where the error message was by doing a text search the files and edited it to say “Please enter State and Post Code for shipping price”

If you want to do this you will have to edit theses files:
\includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\auspost.php
\includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\auspostsea.php
\includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\auspostair.php
\includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\auspostexpress.php
\includes\languages\english\modules\shipping\ausposteconomy.php
You can change the error message some where near the end of these files

If you set the international shiping modules to come up only if the customer selects an international zone, then you don’t need to edit the internation auspostair.php and auspostsea.php because you don’t get this error with these if some one has selected an international country...
(do this in the modules / shipping / selected module / shipping zone)

One of my customers setup the austpost module by them self and somehow go it to work perfectly with out having to modify these pages, I hope to hear back from them soon.

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

Hi,
It was giving me the error regardless of postcode.
I went and checked my settings again in admin for the module and some were incorrect, maybe it happened during upgrade, don't know.
Now it is working again  apart from when the customer isn't logged or or added a postcode.
I also love this module (Gerald's), but I haven't tried the Improved version.

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

Hi,
I have just loaded 1.5.2 All seems ok.
I am new to this. I did the following.
I loaded everything into the same directory structure. I am using the latest version of zen cart.
When it came to the CUSTOM file, i just loaded the whole custom folder as i didnt have one there.

I disabled the OTHER type of ozpost files, and decided to try this new one. Again all seems okay.

Does the above sound OK.
Is there a quick test i can do or a table i can run a few demo test on with dummy packages.

Is it possible to use express post bags, such as the pre paid 1KG and 3KG bags?
I have to make most posings after hours, and use the two bag sizes after hours. My average weight is half a kilo and a size of 20 x 15 x 3 CM in size.

Thanks to whoever wrote this module. I for one apreciate it.

My store is not running yet, as I am still playing with setting it up and testing, before i go on-line.
I hope the other OZ post module does not interfere with this new module (the improved one)
Thanks again
(Perth)

Best way to test is to just add a few products of known size and weight to your cart and compare the cost returned with what you get when entering the same data at https://www.austpost.com.au

Is it possible to use express post bags, such as the
pre paid 1KG and 3KG bags?

The module doesn't account for this possibilty. If you wish to support these I suggest you also include the 'fixed price' shipping module.

Thanks to whoever wrote this module. I for one apreciate it.

Thanks :-)

I hope the other OZ post module does not interfere with this
new module (the improved one)

There is no conflict between the two modules. It may be confusing for your customers if you have them both enabled though.

Cheers
Rod

Hi There
I tried installing this module today and when I go into the Your shopping cart content page I get this error.

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

G'day Blind1

Warning: file() [function.file on line ]: URL file-access is disabled in the > server configuration in /home2> /myhost/public_html/mysite/includes/modules/shipping/austpost.php624

This error message is being produced because your webhost has administratively disabled the php file() function.
IOW, it isn't an AustPost problem per-se.

Please can someone tell me how to fix this error?

There are three options available to you.

  1. locate the austpost.php file (/includes/modules/shipping).
load it into a text editor and find line 624 - it should read:
    $myfile=file($url)
Comment this line out ( // $myfile=$file($url); ) and save the file.

If you are lucky, it should now work (the module will be using the 'Curl' method of contacting the AustPost server rather than the 'file' method.

If it STILL doesn't work it is because your webhost doesn't have 'CURL' installed either.

In this case you'll need to resort to option #2.

2). Send a polite email to your webhost asking them if it is possible to either enable the php 'file' method for you, OR, see if they will install Curl for you.

If your webhost won't help, then you'll need to resort to option#3.

3). Find a better webhost, or use different shipping options rather than the Austpost module.

In my experience, option#2 generally works in most cases.

Cheers
Rod

Re: AustPost - improved V1.3 -AND- Australia Post Module V3.02

Answer:
Ok we found that this module is not completely compatible with zencart 1.3.6.
It works, calculates etc but shows an error on first log in.

But:
I have just posted another query though as I now noticed that this site is not recognising the maximum shipping weight and processing orders with cheaper shipping
