Remove New Products

I have a category named **BLUETOOTH. **Then bluetooth have further 2 sub-categories **Bluetooth Headsets, and Bluetooth Dongles. **When i Click on Bluetooth categories it shows these 2 categories. at the end of these categories it shows new products of may products.

Same the case with other categories also. How can i remove the new products at the bottom of each category???

The Centerboxes are controlled by the settings in the Index Listing ...

0 = OFF and any other value is the sort order for each section of the Centerboxes ...

NOTE: the Configuration ... Stock ... also has a set for when you empty the Shopping Cart ...

But it will totally turn off the centerboxes. I wants to disable centerboxes on some specific pages. How can this possible??????

1. To remove the link to the "New Products" on the left hand side of the navigation (appearing within the categories box under all category listings on the left hand side) you would go to:

Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Categories Box - Show Products New Link and set it to "false"

2. To remove the listings of "New Products" that appears underneath a single product, or single category page (within the center box section), you would go to:

Admin > Configuration > Index Listing and look for any or all of the following (depending on where you want to remove the box from):

Show New Products - below Product Listing
Show New Products on Main Page - Errors and Missing Products Page
Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories
Show New Products on Main Page

Set those that you do NOT want to display to "0". In your case it sounds like it could be the following
"Show New Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories"

Does that do it?

Don't forget the new one in the Configuration ... Stock ...

These settings for the Centerboxes control which ones show when you are on the shopping_cart and empty it ... :smile:

I wanted to completely remove the New Products feature too, but from the left column. I followed all the instructions offered by econcepts and ajeh but the thing is still there! When I add a new item the image of it appeared on the left column. How can I get rid of that??

To remove New Products from ALL of the Index Listings ... go to the Configuration ... Index Listing ...

Set all references to the New Products Centerbox to 0 for OFF

To remove the What's New sidebox ... go to the Tools ... Layout Boxes Controller ...

Click on the whats_new sidebox and click Edit and set to OFF ...

Aaargh! It was the what's_new box that got me!
