Where do i globally set products sort order?

How do i get all my products to be listed according to the price.

Currently i have products with 0 sort order, but cant find where to get them displaying in the product listing from least to greatest price.

Each of the Listings has a default setting for what sort order you want the displays to start with ...

I want to set product listing.

So i went to admin-->configuration-->product listing-->Display product default sort order.

Now what..

Every where else (featured, new, all etc) i have selected the option no 3 which is price low to high, product name.

I dont understand what i'm supposed to enter into product listing.
I've tried all sorts of things there.

Nothings working.

Go to your Catalog and look at the Product Listing from when you click on a Category of Products ...

Click on the header for Price until it is sorted the way you want it ...

In the URL you will see sort=#x

What does #x read? Set that as your default sort order for the Products Listing ...

Thanks for the update that you got this to work ... it can be rather confusing until you get the hang of how the sort works on that page and why it is different for everyone ...

3 people can have 3 separate settings based on their setup ...

If you mean in the admin -- under product listing.
For me, yes.

All the other types of listing have straight forward instructions with options (radio buttons), but this one i found to be a bit crytic.

Sometimes i struggle with the seemingly most obvious things or forget that i know them, there's just so much.
