Just Installed Blank Sidebox Want to remove (MORE) link

I just installed the blank sidebox mod. It works great, but where would I remove the link to (MORE) that is in the title of the sidebox?

Just to be clear I'm talking about the "Visit our Affiliate" sidebox on the right hand side.

Would it be possible to know where precisely you downloaded this contribution from the downloads section ? I even used the search and found no results of this subject.

It's a bug in the mod, which is an adaptation of a Zen Cart 1.2.x mod.

I've never much liked it. Despite being a very simple mod, it has too many hang overs from the original and programming practices that were prevalent at the time (and now this bug!). But I have my own version that's more in keeping with Zen Cart 1.3.x, so I'll test that against your particular circumstances and then pop it in the downloads area as version 2.0.

Version 2.0 of the mod is now available here. Depending upon how you have implemented the mod on your site it will overwrite what you have already done, but if you re-do the customisation, you will find that you will no longer have that pesky link.

You won't though get the full advantage of the lightweight markup that it generates, as it will be wrapped in all that ridiculous Template Monster code. Nontheless - enjoy. :smile:

You're getting that message because the line is nonsense and so PHP can't make any sense of it. It starts to go wrong when you try to define the script's source (src).

thanks for the quick reply but how would I fix it? I am trying to put a sitepal avatar into the sidebox....

...am I going about it the wrong way? I am not very proficient at coding but I can usually pick my way through existing - please help :)

That's much more sensible code than that which you posted earlier and happily easily fixed. Just change the single quotes around FFFFFFF and 0b12ab05c2afe085aa55638ef8bc5804 into double quotes.

(though I rather wonder if the result will help your sales, I'd run a mile from what I saw when I did this! :wink:)

Hello Kuroi, this is the 1st time EVER I have posted in a forum.
I did the whole blank_sidebox Version 2.0 mod, it works as expected. Thank you. I need some more help please, been over a week now and I just am not getting "it". I do not understand all of the customiztion configs as yet, just been a hackin the core files.
Inside the manager I can turn on/off the new sidebox. Great. BUT, it shows on all pages then. This is not what I'm a tryin to get to. I want it to show on a specific page ONLY.
On this page: http://allhealthseekers.com/index.php?main_page=howitworks I need to add a box on the left with pictures etc adding content to the text on the right.
I understand I can use preexisting boxes and banner slots (as I have elswhere) but needed a better solution. If I can get this one going, I do have others I need to implement also.
I've tried hacking all kinds of templates and files etc and just cannot get the one I need to display it. I still don't understand the "require" command and figure this will be a part of the solution. only, require (what) and put that requirement on what page?
I hope I'm somewhat clear and that you can help.

You could try going to the includes/modules/sideboxes/blank_sidebox.php file and finding> // test if box should display

Any further zen you may have would very much be appreciated (my head hurts...).

The code should work. So I would take a look at precisely where you have placed each of the files and whether you have renamed them consistly and correctly in each place. And also whether you have actually turned the sidebox on and placed it in the left column in Admin > Tools > Layout Box Controller.

I cross every t and dot every i, the 3 pages are renamed and properly in place.

When I turn it on in admin, everything works great. No problem with the functioning of the sidebox.

Except, when it's turned on - it's ON - on EVERY page.

I only want it to be on - on the one single page.

My thought was to hack in the code to have it run, on that page only, everytime it's invoked, regardless of it being on/off in the admin.

I could hack in via the banner, as I've done with the text at the top and the "slogan" at the bottom of all the pages. I was going to use the banner for a paypal/cc block on product pages, in the bottom of the left column.

I need to utilize more of the left column below the nav bars for additional content. Sidebox provides that, if I can only constrain it to displaying that sidebox on that particular page.
