Zen Cart experts-what's best way to do this?

Hello,
I'm hoping that someone who's familiar with all the product options can help me figure out the best way to accomplish what I want to do. I get the basics of the product attributes and all, but am not sure how to do this.
I'm putting up a comic book sales site for a friend. For each comic book, I need to show condition (mint, near mint....), price for each condition, quantities available for each condition, and the ability for a person to order for example 2 near mint books, 3 fair books, etc. all on on page.
I've figured out enough to get the product page to display the different conditions with prices next to them, and check boxes for each. But don't know how to change the check boxes to text fields where they can type in a quantity for each condition. Is that even possible?
I don't know how to show quantity available for each condition.

Is there a mod that will allow him to input all of the above (conditions, prices, quantities, etc.) directly on the "new product" input page to make it easier, so he won't have to go in and mess with the attributes screens every time he puts up a new book?
The bulk of items available will be comic books, but there will be some items that don't need any attributes or options.

Do you have a link to look at?

If you just simply have a "text box" for them to type qty and condition into, the cart will not add the totals up properly? You need to use the "qty field".
