Questions from a zencart newbie!!

Ok I admit that I am a total newbie when it comes to zencart....or anything beyond HTML really, however I need help!! I am sure the back end of my store is a sloppy mess, and there are things that should be simple, that for the life of me I can't get. :frusty:
My main question right now is how in the world do I remove the zencart banner in the footer?? I have looked everywhere!!

TIA!!

Re: Questions from a zencart newbie!!

You also need to change the permission level on:

zencart/includes/configure.php
zencart/admin/includes/configure.php

right now they are set to 777 which is what you need during installation, but once it's installed you need to turn the permission level back to 644. If you have not already also make sure you either rename or delete the zc_install folder.

This is a great group here for help, I've been 'Zenning' for a while now and these guys have always come through for me. I'm at a point now where I'm able to help others, you'll be there too one day!

Depends where domain in hosted and on what type of server..
own computer/localhost would be different procedure...

You're right about resetting the permissions. Misty was just pointing out that the setting can depend on the way the server is set up. Some sites will allow 644. Others require 444.

As Misty pointed out, the banners can be turned off in the admin... or you can add your own banners if you like.

Re: Questions from a zencart newbie!!

This isn't anything you change in your configure file.
You need to go into your server file manager and change permissions there.
