Change the width of the website

I'm having a hard time changing the width of the site. I was able to change the header and footer from the stylesheet.css. I'm using the 1.3.7 cart. Does anyone know how to change the width of the body between the header & footer? Also can you center the site after the width been adjusted?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Change the width of the website

#mainWrapper is the place to change the overall width of the page. You can also add
margin: auto;
to #mainWrapper to center it.

Re: Change the width of the website

For somehow it's not moving the body. It's only moving the header & the footer.
You can see what i mean in the picture.

Re: Change the width of the website

We need a link to your site.

Are you trying to stretch or shrink the width?
Are you using a prebuilt template? Where is it from?

Hi,
Can you help me at all, I need to change the width of my site as you can see when I add a right side box it moves the images at the top https://www.electronic-web.co.uk I purchased by site from here http://zencart-templates.themestock.com/info.php/135 thats how it should look but I also have an issue, I was sent a HTML Folder that had the following inside:

index.html
style.css

but I'm not sure where to put them, I think the style sheet is why my site does not look the same should have the details and add to cart button next the the products on the main page?

Thanks,
Adam.

Re: Change the width of the website

The width problem is caused by the fact that this is designed to be a fixed-width template. Your big pool image takes up most of the center column and does not allow space for a right sidebox, so the sidebox gets pushed out and drags the outline of #contentMainWrapper with it. This lets the bottom of the monitor image shift, since it is a separate slice not attached to the header.

You need to use a narrower pool image or forget the right sidebox. Making the template wider is possible, but would require some code changes, I don't know how many at a glance.

Index.html is not normally used on a Zen Cart site. It would go in the root of your site, but I don't know if it would be good for you or not.
Style.css would typically go in your template directory, /includes/templates/your_template/css/style.css; but this one may be intended to go along with the index.html and might want to be put in the same place. Was there any information about what these files are supposed to do for you?

Hi,
Thanks for comming back to me it's appreciated, there was no information with regards to what you do with them. There was only guidelines as to what you do with the Zencart Main Template files. For some reason my new products are not listing on the main page any ideas on what this may be?
