Help, My stylesheet doesn't load

I recently upgraded to a (linux economy)Virtual Dedicated Server on Godaddy.com and moved over the zen cart but it doesn't load layouts, etc. The admin page loads up fine. I reinstalled it twice to no avail.
I checked the faqs and it said that it has to do with the .htaccess. So I called up godaddy and they don't offer assistance for Virtual Server. I was wondering if anyone here has any success in installing zen cart on a VPS and can walk me through the process of tweaking the apache configuration files.

I suppose that you got "goaded" into this...

Apache configuration can get involved...was it not setup with a default?

What might this look like?
