tagging products / tag cloud

Hey has anyone implied any solution for tagging products. I'm looking for a simple solution how to "tag" products with materials used and maybe with another category as well and ofcourse access all products by tags. fex https://www.bouf.com

actually I'm not making this at the moment and the project I was planning this for was cancelled

BUT if someone's planning about this I think you'd use the hide categories plugin which can hide certain categories from the main menus and then just use the categories display..

but since the whole product copying etc is quite a burden, I guess the best thing would to make a proper plugin for this

Tagging as in letting customers tag? Or tagging as in keywords? If you mean as in keywords, can you use the built-in meta-tags feature for this and direct the customer to the built-in search feature?

I am looking for tags for products. It's another sort for products.

Gettin back to this.. still looking for a solution..

It would be awesome to be able to tag products and thus sort them into different categories..

I mean like I have always products linked in different categories fex the brand and category such as tshirt. These are both folders now. With category I'd drop the product directly to category or tag called tshirt. In most of the cases this would decrease the clutter and my clients would be a lot happier :)

Hallo, even the hide categories plugin is out of date ...

Allowing products being tagged in a way that a product belonging to the category "Tools" could be found using a drop down menu with available selections -in the advanced search- under the tagging "hand tools" ... would be great!
