How can I switch templetes and still have my website working?You can install as many templates as you want and just switch between them in Admin > Tools > Template Settings.

You would need to also set up the sideboxes for each template (Admin > Tools > Layout Box Controller) and note that some templates need other Admin switches changed e.g. column widths. But it's all pretty straightforward.
