Re: Need Help with Crafty Live Help Module

You dont use the actual code that crafty provides. You do use information from it though. Here are the instructions for installing the crafty mod.

  1. Install and configure Crafty Syntax Live Help from:
    http://www.craftysyntax.com/

  2. Edit: "\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\craftysyntax_sidebox_defines.php"
    Replace 'Live Help' with whatever you wish to title your live help box.
    define('BOX_HEADING_CRAFTY_SIDEBOX', 'Live Help')

  3. Login to your admin panel of Crafty Syntax and navigate to Departments --> Generate
    HTML for whatever department you are monitoring. Generate the code. This code will
    give you the department number and pingtimes values.

  4. Edit: "\includes\templates\template_default\sideboxes\tpl_craftysyntax_sidebox.php"
    // This flag controls whether or not you pass the Zencart customer name to CSLH.
    // By default the name will not be passed.
    $cs_flag = "true"; // Will pass customer's name.
    $cs_flag = ""; // Won't pass customer's name.

    // Directory where Crafty Syntax Live Help is installed
    $cs_dir = "help";

    // Department that you will be monitoring. Generated code from CSLH gives you
    // something like "department=1". Put that number here.
    $cs_dept = "1";

    // Pingtimes as set in Crafty Syntax. Generated code from CSLH give you something
    // like "pingtimes=15". Put that number here.
    $cs_pingtimes = "15";

  5. Upload all files to your server.

  6. Login to Zencart admin panel --> Tools --> Layout Boxes Controller.
    craftysyntax_sidebox.php will show up as a new sidebox

Re: Need Help with Crafty Live Help Module

Hey,
I don't know if it will help or not. I just installed the Crafty Syntax mod and I had some troubles at first with nothing showing up in the Live Online Support box, so I checked the tpl_craftysyntax_sidebox file, and under the

// Directory where Crafty Syntax Live Help is installed
$cs_dir = "help";

I changed it to the name of the folder in my www directory where crafty syntax is installed on my server, and I got the leave a message icon to appear. The only thing I changed was the $cs_dir = "(/public_html/)helpfolder", all stuff in brackets not included.

Hopefully that helps?

Re: Need Help with Crafty Live Help Module

I had trouble with this at first, then I took out the code, put it back in again and suddenly it started working. But you guessed it, now it is not working again. Only I tried to do my little trick again and still nothing. I too would love to have this work again!
Anyone know what to do?

OK GOT IT WORKING!!!!
Since nobody else has posted the fix I will post mine here.

Now as far as reinstalling it like you did.. I tried the same thing with similar results.

What I Finally did to make it work:

  1. Installed "Blank Sidebox 2.0"
  2. Generated code from crafty syntax and inserted it into blank sidebox
  3. Tested.. It works great!

I then download the windows client, installed the windows client one one of my windoze machines and tested that as well.

It works great!

Note:
One of the things i noticed is FTP is giving me issues and files were getting corrupted or only partially uploaded. I'll have to look into that problem later when I have more time but this is most likely due to a firewall, router or modem issue.

I hope this helps you out,

Rich
