Several questions from noob- custom layout, PP patch

Hi, and sry for my ignorance

but

I am having a hard time figuring out a few things on my ZC.

I switched to custom layout, and set up the basic folders as described in several threads here and the tutorials. However, from there I am kind of stuck. I can't figure out how to change the browser line and 'tagline' on the front page- I mean, I saved the meta-tag file under my custom folder and once I go to another page, the shop name is there, and then when I return to the front page it is there, but not when I first go to the page. ???

Also I am confused about the override system- that IS what I need to use when I make my own template, right?

By browser line, do you mean the page title? The line on top of your browser, the name of the page? I belive that you change that somewhere in your admin section, but i dont really remember.

ok I have been following the guidelines but my changes aren't showing up.

I did already change the page title, it shows up on all the pages except for the front page.

can't figure out how to make the header image/ logo.... uploaded the pic, followed the directions in the tutorial, but it did not appear

Do you have a link we could look at?

I use another system for my logo, but i belive it has to be a certain size/name to show. Try to edit the old logo (the one that follows with zencart) and upload it without doing any changes to name/size. Just draw something on it in paint/photoshop and see if that works.

as you can see, there is tagline in the header, if you go to any other page the logo appears (how do i put it in the center?!)

argh this is so frustrating

also see hoe the title is zencart.... but on the other pages it is kiirababy
