question about PP

I was trying to upload the patch and was unsuccessful. I am not sure why, but I couldn't upload the files. (I must be doing something wrong, silly noob!)

I download the patch, but it wouldn't upload. I thought maybe because the folders already have the same named file in them??

Anyway, I think I might not use express pay, but if I understood correctly the patch fixes something in IPN too, right?? What is the benefit of havng express pay- the main thinfg for me is that my customers be able to use CC and that is available with the IPN correct?

If you have a PayPal Business Account, then you can accept payments from customers via credit card or via paypal funds or via their bank account on file with PayPal.

The PayPal IPN module can handle that, as well as the Express Checkout.

By "trouble uploading the patch" and "the patch won't upload", what exactly do you mean?

What exact steps did you do, and when did you encounter errors, and what were the errors?

ah I think it is a problem on my servers side- i keep getting this message in the ftp log-
[14:02:58] 451 (whatever file I'm uploading) : Append/Restart not permitted, try again
