I don't know why the column is expanding to different widths - I can't see anything in your CSS that would cause or allow it, and I have never seen anything just like it before.

I added the line-height 1.5em as per your instructions on the template stylesheet with no noticeable change. I played with it by changing the size from 0.5em to 2.0 em and still no change

I removed the text-align; center, from the categories dressing stylesheet, and that kept the text from going off of the buttons.

I am not sure where to go from here

Okay,

1. I removed the picture from the tabs....left box still tripled in size on specials
2. I went back into admin and reset column widths to 200...Problem Solved.!I reset the column widths before while the image was still in place, but there was no change. So maybe it was something to do with the picture (I did play around with the image, making it smaller shorter and taller)?

I will try playing with it more later

wally - If you didn't have the column width defined, it would naturally stretch as needed to hold its content if the rest of the page allowed. The lack of this setting wouldn't show in the stylesheet, but only in view source.

I've installed the Categories Dressing add-on and I am completely overwhelmed. I want to display only the product categories when selecting a Category>>Subcategory from the top drop down menu.

So for example, when selecting Fraternities>>Alpha Phi Alpha, I want only Apparel, Headgear, Accessories, Jewelry, Mogul (Office), Auto, and Wood Products to appear. And I want this to occur for each subcategory selected. I don't need any images, bullets, or any other special styling.

I've been playing around with the categories_dressings_define.php file but nothing is changing. :no:

See the readme.html, "To hide certain kinds of categories, like inactive, top or subs:"

You want only the subcats of the top cat you select in categories-tabs. Do you want all of the sub- and sub-subcats of that showing all the time, or just the normal Zen Cart structure of the subs related to the current viewing path?
You will probably want settings in categories_dressing_defines.php for
define('CAT_BOX_ACTIVE_LEVEL', '1|2|9');

If that doesn't give you what you want, experiment with the first number in the define.

I want the subs related to the current path to be displayed. Everything else should be hidden.

I've gone through the readme.html file over and over again.
I'm not sure if I'm just doing something incorrectly, but no matter what I change, the website shows no updates.

so i grabbed a domain for my wifes web business and while transfering everything over my 3rd link i cant seem to find why it is doing this.. when u hover over the 3rd link it says boys accessories.. but the button says cat3 sample... how do i fix this?

Delete or rename the example image file for category id 3: /includes/templates/your_template/buttons/english/catimg3.gif.

I re-copied all the files to their respective directories and played around with the CAT_BOX_ACTIVE_LEVEL in the categories_dressing_defines.php file (as suggested). Now I'm about to start customizing the look and display using the stylesheet.

This may be a default image with the template you are using.

Hopes this points you in the right direction.

Hi Glen, I wonder if you can help me with something? I'm building a new site at https://www.silkblooms.co.uk and I've used another of my sites as the template. I can't ficure out how I created CAT_BOX_HEADING_1_29.

If you look at the 'colour filter' you can see the list is broken into two columns. There are four on the left column and six on the right.

How do I tell CAT_BOX_HEADING_1_29 only to split with five of the colour sub categories instead of taking six?

I'm basically trying to even the columns into two columns of five.

The left column cats are in catGroup1_26 and the right column cats are in catGroup1_29. How are these defined?

I figured this out from post #815 in this thread.

You'd already told me how to create the two column layout in that post, I just couldn't remember. All I had to do was change the sub cat from 1_29 to 1_30 in the categories_dressing_defines.php file.

on the diaper cakes category.. there is 3 sub categories... i want only the sub categories to be aligned on the left... how can i go about doing this?

also is there a way so when u click diaper cakes and it brings up basically a blank page in the center.. can it show the sub categories there as well as the list on the left? or maybe how about just the top category on the main list, then when u click diaper cakes, it only shows sub categories in the middle not on the main category list?
