Error 1044 message - Yahoo hosting vs MySql

Howdy y'all,

I just installed zen cart and received this error message:

1044 Access denied for user 'fotostrations'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'
in:
[DROP TABLE IF EXISTS upgrade_exceptions;]

What can I do to resolve this issue?

Sounds like you do not have the proper permissions to perform that command (DROP). "Access Denied" messages stem from incorrect permission setting (in this case it looks like at the MySQL level).

Make sure the username you are utilizing to connect to the DB has permission to perform these types of commands. If you are unsure, check with your host.

Sorry, it still gives me the same error message. I have change the permissions to the directory and the subdirectories to 777 and I still receive the error message;

1044 Access denied for user 'fotostrations'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'
in:
[DROP TABLE IF EXISTS zen_upgrade_exceptions;]

I do gain access to MySql db when I go through my web hosting and use phpMyAdmin and enter the username/password

I host with yahoo (no help there) and I uploaded zen cart with a ftp on a Power Mac OS 10.4.9

Anyone else with any helpful hints?

your database username is 'fotostrations'
and that your database name is 'mysql'
and your database server is 'localhost'

For Yahoo hosting, that's incorrect.
With Yahoo, you need to set your Database Server to 'mysql'
and then supply your correct database name. You can find your database name from the pulldown menu in your phpMyAdmin area.
