make category product list look like new product list

Hi,

I would like to make a very small change in the formating of the way products are listed.

The new products list looks great, the category listing of products looks...different.

I would like make category product listing look like new product listing.

I've done a search of the forum, and tried to figure it out....

This is not part of Zen Cart at this time but more flexibility on the Listings is on the To Do Lists ... :smile:

As you have noticed these use different layouts - you would have to clone/copy the layout for the one you like and place it into the tpl file for the product listing and you should do this using the template override system so that it is for copies that you have edited and not the core files

And as Ajeh has posted - I should add that doing this probably negates some of the admin settings for these displays that you alter...

would they be in this folder?

Yes, this is where they are for the most part...but only edit copies for your template folders

product listing = tpl_modules_product_listing.php
featured listing = tpl_modules_featured_products.php

and not having done this exactly, I think the you are looking at the difference between tpl_tabular_display.php and tpl_columnar_display.php called in these files

If you are doing this in copies for your template - then you can try this or that and if it is Baaad!!! just delete the edited files and the defaults are then used again - no harm done

I'll post on the results.

here is the result of copying the contents of tpl_columnar_display.php into the tpl_tabular_display.php file. Now both files are identical.

Not what I expected that you would do at all!!!!

Try changing the call in the tpl_module_product_listing.php file from what it is to the other.

and change your files that you copied back

OK.

Later I'll try to format the product listing.
