Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Where is the feed path defined? I have seen the line in the Admin-> Configuration ->Google Base Config section. Mine says feed/google/.

The error I keep getting says that the feed directory doesn't exist, but in reality it is trying to find the feed in another directory altogether (another test ZC install)!

Installing on a fresh 1.3.9 upgrade on my test server. Never had google base installed before that I can remember, but I do have Easy Populate installed.

Thanks,
Jessica

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

public_html/feed/google. have you setup the settings correctly in admin/configuration/google base? you need to enter a name for the program to use for the database file. entering domain should do the trick and will result in a file name of domain_products.xml
also make sure that you have copied the googlefroogle.php to public html. Have you changed the name of your admin folder? if so this may also be the cause of your issue.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

solved my problem it wasnt google after all (too a point) 7 hours after starting install im finally done and about to rest, all i had to do was rerun the install.sql as the first time i had run it with a file missing, then turns out it had reset loads of options in configuration, i entered ftp details changed price from usd to gbp and set location of website as well as post from location and that did the trick. 230 out of 234 items is close enough for me for the night at least:D

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

This is what shows up now when I try to create a google feed:

====================================
Google Base Feeder v started 2011/01/21 15:01:07
Feed file - C:/xampplite/htdocs/ZC139/feed/google/BFQS_products.xml
Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No

Google Base File Complete In 10.047028 Seconds 1543 Records

====================================

See the part where it says ZC139? That is a different Zencart install! My current install is zc139_upgrade. Is there some kind of database setting for this?

For kicks, I went and put a feed/google folder there, and now I don't get the error message. In fact, it is nicely generating an XML file there. But why? Why will it jump into a completely different directory?

I'm confused!:huh:

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Sorry...totally new to this. I'm stuck on the step that says

"Register your bulk upload .xml file using the same name in your Google Base Configuration at base.google.com"

I have no idea how to do this...and I already set up my FTP in Google Merchant Center...

using Zen Cart 1.3.9h

any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Running Zen version 1.3.9h
Recent upgrade from 1.3.7
Did a complete fresh install of Google Base Feeder version 1.8.3
Configuration has been done. And when I click on Google Base Feeder in tools I get to the correct screen. My problme is I get the following error when I click on the Confirm button

Server error cannot find
http://domain.comadmin/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp&limit=&offset=&x=56&y=7

I can pretty much figure the problem is there is no slash between domain.com and admin and should be reading it as domain.com/admin/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp&limit=&offset=&x=56&y=7

I have looked all over and cannot find where the google base tool is getting this from so I can correct it.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

you have to create a feed file in your google base account for googlefroogle to upload it to google, otherwise it just says....dont exist so i cant be uploaded....

log into your account, click data feeds, click new data feed, make sure you type the name of the data feed EXACTLY as it is produced from ZC...

then you can either manually upload the file(by downloading it from ftp first) or click the upload products data in ZC googlefroogle...

Please ignore the above post. I found the problem. Too many /admin/ in my admin/includes/configure.php file
It was a long day and I was doing my security settings and goofed it.

If it's a vanilla install, it'll be under the website root/**feed/google/**filename.xml

the filename will be the one that you have set in the Admin options.

Are any of the descriptions blank?!? If so, it doesn't put it in the xml file. That could be one cause... I wondered the same thing and took the description out of a product and recreated the xml. Sure enough - it was no longer listed. Put it back, and poof - back in the feed file. :D

As far as Google Checkout/Paypal ... that's funny. I've put Paypal in all different spots on the 'accept' line in the Admin, and it's there in the xml file... but it seems that the Google strips it off! :shocking: I suppose it's so that you use their checkout versus another, and since you ARE on the feed... I suppose they can do that.

The second line in the Admin - Config, below which payment options, is where you can put Google Checkout.

Hope that helps.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I screwed up my feed. I accidentally reinstalled the sql after I had already installed it. It caused the fields to be listed in a different order than before. At first, I thought no big deal, but now I keep getting unrecognized attribute errors from Google. I have tried the uninstall sql and reinstalled again but the fields are still out of order and I still get the errors from Google.

I know the fields are out of order because I have another store to compare it to. Also the other store has the identical configuration, and works fine.

Any ideas on how to clear this up. If I could just do a complete uninstall and reinstall, that would be great.

I have solved my problem.

I was way off with my question.

For others to completely uninstall see
http://numinix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6&p=5257&hilit=uninstall#p5257

My problem with the data feed field errors was because I was using the google base feed web site which apparently has been replaced by your google merchant account site. Once I moved over, my feeds were acceptable.
