Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

No, the new version has a number of bugs. If you can avoid using it for the moment, do that. I had to upgrade and am working on getting it going but I can't get all products to upload to google. I'll post if I get it fixed.

I installed this mod but I can not make it even start.
I have zec_cart 1.39h.
I installed the sql patch and then I went to Admin->Configuration->Google Merchant Center Configuration but I can not see anything to be set. All what I get Is a page without any possibility to add configuration records.

When I installed the sql patch I got a error regarding configuration key already existing. I do not kno if this can be the reason of the problem.

What should I look for?

OK I have fixed the problem above.
I had a corrupted record in the database.

Now I have another problem when using the feeder generation command under tools, I get a link not found message.

The link not found is hxxp://www.acquatua.it/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp&limit=&offset=&x=48&y=9&key=xxxxxxxxx

The googlefroogle.php file is in the root....

Can some one help me?

what if you download everything onto the cart, and you have google merchant center feeder under tools but not under configuration? does that mean i did something wrong? I am using 1.3.9h and i am doing this right now on a test site

I have been scowering the thread for hours and can not find an answer. i read that the google merchant center feeder would not show up under tools until it has been configured under configuration, but it is under tools now and still hasn't showed up under configuration. I can't do anything until i figure this one out, if anyone has an answer I would appreciate it.

I have loaded the google merchant center feeder mod but it only shows up under tools>google merchant center feeder

and there is nothing under configuration

ok, all seems to be working, i click on the file name (domain_products.xml) in my tools>google merchant center feeder
and i get a nice xml feed page comes up under my domain name

and all looks good, but how can i tell if it downloaded to google and is actually on the google products site/place what ever it is, if it is in google products???

I have installed the 1.9.1 version and configured.
Set the permission as required and added googlefrogle.php in the exceptions of CEON URI mapping.

When using the feed creator under tools, I get a error message saying that the googlefroogle.php may be not available due to maintenance status or wrongly configured

I have to underline that in the feed creator I see two fields: max products and starting point. I left them blank because I do not understand what they mean.

Please help.

Ok, I have solved alla problems and now I can get my feed file.

The only problem remaining is that accented letters are not stripe correclty from html

I have been looking around a lot but I can not find a solution.
By now I have created a macro in notepad++ and I run it on the file before uploading it to google, but this exclude the possibility of any automation of the system.

My db product_description collation is latin1_general_ci.
If someone can help, is very welcome.

I have these structures in my feed and it uploads correctly.

In class google_base.php, function google_base_sanita
you could try commenting out the last line

$str = htmlentities($str, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');

which is responsible for the creation of those entities, but I believe Google insists on them.

I wonder if then in the description the &agrave will be shown as à or not.

I am reluctant in deleting my actual feed and load the new one because it takes a long time before google approves the products for ads.

On the other end, I do not understand why none of the products in my actual feed are approved for product search bearing the hourglass even if more then 24 hours are gone by since the last upload.

I the description the &agrave is shown as à and the ' as ' PERFECT!!!

Instead of deleting and uploading the new feed, I updated it changing the update planning, but now all the products are pending for ads while they were approved for ads before updating.

Also, I do not understand why none of the products in the feed before upadating was approved for product search bearing the hourglass even if more then 24 hours are gone by since the last upload.

If one plans for daily update of the feed, the products will never be approved for ads or for search I think.

What do you think about?

Example if you search for "otterbox defender atrix" in google shopping Mobile Gear was 2nd in the list

My shop have 1317 item, but this module generate feed for only 601 item. Why this?

I'm only getting 12 out of 54 products listed as "Success"

The others are failing and the debug says the "description length: 0"

Below is the debug line for product id 132, the HTML Description is included here in the quote box. Does anyone see why it would fail? Odd Character? phase? I don't know.

If you're using the latest version, comment out the line below from includes/classes/google_base.php

It worked for me. Not sure what the repercussions are yet though.

anyone know what this line does and if/why it's needed?

Hi - bare with me Im new to zen cart and still learning.

Installed Google Base feeder - all seamed aok - when I press confirm to create the feed, download link shows file, links to upload and delete are present but there is no file?

Also checked in feed/google and, permissions set correctly etc, but no output file is produced.

Any ideas?
