Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

countrycharm:

How are you submitting them , with a cron job or manually, or is Google fetching them. I don't submit them except when I add products. If I don't I let them ride until the expiring date which is 30 days.

Google is fetching them currently. Made sense to have it do it instead of running it on my server. I am newly open, so were adding products daily. But like i said, does it just skip the products that have not changed? Or does it have to go thru every product?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

countrycharm:

You are right about the version 1.7.3A on numinix site
In version 1.7.3a it has been change but it still does not work right unless you switch it out like I stated with the 1.7.0 \includes\classes\google_base.php just the sanitizes code for XML

1.7.3a Replace this code with the 1.7.0 code down below.

1.7.0

This may not work for some of you, but it does for me. Google now excepts all my products without any errors at all.

hmm, ok I tried that and it added more products. The few its missing may be my fault. Google does not allow products that do not have descriptions or too small ones.

Any ways, I created the feed. when I looked at it, it has all the descriptions bunched up? It took out all the spacing? I obviously like that it accepted more products but I cant change every product.

If you are using the current version of Google Base go to your admin/configurations/google_base and cut on the debug and create the feed again and see what that tells you. As you can see by my feed here mine works fine by everything I have told you, I have done myself.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I also have had the google base feeder working fine for over a year then all of a sudden last month it stopped working. Last month I manually uploaded the feed successfully.

Today even manual uploads don't seem to be working and feeds are not being registered or processed. I can only presume that this may have something to do with the new google terms and conditions.

Any thoughts anyone.

well, sounds like the file name is wrong. in the config file you have to tell it what you want the name of the file to be under output file name.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I also let this by me. I have no configuration under admin for the Google base. I have ftp'd the install files twice with filezilla. What may have gone wrong?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Sounds like you didn't set up your SQL File correctly. Go to MYSQL and search for google_ and delete all references to google_base and google_froogle, etc... then resubmit your googlefroogle.sql for query.

One way to tell if you did it wrong, when you go to the Google Base Feeder Configuration in admin, if you only see ftp username / password and server. You did it wrong.

You should see like 25 configuration lines you can change.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I checked the database (I don't know SQL) and there were no such fields, so I tried to run the googlefroogle.sql again and it did not work. I tried again but this time I browsed for the file to open and when I run that I got this error

1062 Duplicate entry 'GOOGLE_BASE_MAP_PRICING' for key 2
```the rest was the entire patch
Please keep in mind the last programing it did was visual basic back in collage in the 90's
Thanks James
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]
Also In checking the database there is no duplicate key and you might need this
1062 Duplicate entry 'GOOGLE_BASE_MAP_PRICING' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES (NULL, 'Google Base FTP Username', 'GOOGLE_FROOGLE_USERNAME', 'ftp_username', 'Enter your Google Base FTP username', @configuration_group_id, 0, NOW(), NULL, NULL), (NULL, 'Google Base FTP Password', 'GOOGLE_FROOGLE_PASSWORD', 'ftp_password', 'Enter your Google Base FTP password', @configuration_group_id, 0, NOW(), NULL, NULL), (NULL, 'Google Base Server', 'GOOGLE_FROOGLE_SERVER', 'uploads.google.com', 'Enter froogle server
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]
I now have Google base configuration and I am just guessing it has all the right fields there is nothing to tell it what file to use.
Also I still do not see any anything Google then the analytics that don't work.
I am still getting a blank popup! anyway I am 1 for 2. Don't mind me I am just an idiot :shocking: what damage could be if the statements were put in one at a time?
well, when it reads duplicate statements that means that you have already entered that one. It doesnt hurt anything by it saying that. From reading what your entry says, looks like it just cant find the information you entered. But if you havent entered anything then thats your issue. Have you completed the setup yet? It took me 2 times to get it right. Im still fighting with the file it generates. In the newest version, it doesnt get all my items. In the older version, it gets all my product but all the words are jumbled together. So i gave up and just went with the newest one.
But for you...IMO, I would start over from the SQL. cut and paste the lines in. dont upload them.
I figured it out and I really deserve a hooraaa :clap: The short story is the uninstall misses fields or keys anyway what ever they are I used myphp to do a search every time I got a duplicate key. I didn't know how to do a query so on each search error until the were gone. I had to run the un-install sql each time. It was Like starting over and over again
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]
Hello. I have 1.7.1 running, not picking up all items, downloaded from the addon section, so read this thread and have now downloaded the 1.7.3a from numinix site. Do I need to uninstall the old one then install this one in full? I am not sure how to uninstall everything:unsure:or even if I need to, and would appreciate some help.
Just upgrade your version 1.7.1 to 1.7.4 and copy and paste the update_1_7_3.sql code here or look in the Google base folder for it and insert it into your store admin/tools/install sql patches.
SET @configuration_group_id=0;
SELECT @configuration_group_id:=configuration_group_id
FROM configuration_group
WHERE configuration_group_title= 'Google Base Feeder Configuration'
LIMIT 1;
INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES
(NULL, 'Debug', 'GOOGLE_BASE_DEBUG', 'false', 'Turn on simple debug?', @configuration_group_id, 0, NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array(\'true\', \'false\'),');
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]
I have ~10 items total that will get titled automaticly 100 different ways. I can't get the Feeder to pick up the 100 titles, all it sees is the 10 items.
For example, fuel pump #7 fits 1993-1999 Nissan Altima, so I need the feeder to pick-up 7 unique items. (ie item one is 1993 Nissan Altima Fuel Pump, item two is 1994 Nissan Altima Fuel Pump, etc. etc.)
Is this possible? test site is fuelpumpsusa.com click on nissan --> altima --> 93 or 94 has the SAME item but it gets renamed correctly through tpl_product_info_display.php
thank you,
nisdats
Using 1.3.8a with Cold Steel template, IH2, Simple SEO URL, and COWOA.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]
I am using Google Base Feeder on my FastHosts powered ZenCart. I currently have the newest version of both zencart and google base feeder installed. My database is about 40k products and I currently get the HTTP 500 internal server error when I try to create a froogle file. I called my host and asked about php.ini and they told me I can not change it because of security reasons but I can create a .htaccess file. Are there sample .htaccess files, I really don't know what to include in the file or if this is actually the problem. Also I used to create froogle files with easypopulate but that is giving the same error when I try to create a froogle file with that as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
