Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

ok things are getting fixed for my feed finally. I have noticed that it was not accepting all my products and couldnt figure out why...Well, it would seem that it does not like some of the descriptions. If you enter products with a description that includes quotations, hyphens, etc and their not done correctly with the ascii code list then google base will not take them.

So...for all those people that have been having issues, this takes time to go thru the whole file, but it will fix all the issues.

Just figured it out, so i wanted to pass it on...

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Help please.
I was using the google base feed version 1.68 and was able to generate feed successfully. The only problem was that the **condition **attribute was missing from the feed. Since Google is now requiring the condition attribute, I tried to upgrade to the latest version of the mod i.e ver 1.7.4.
Now the feed runs and completes immediately within few fractions of seconds with 0 records inserted.
When I revert back to 1.68. all my items are inserted into the feed but no condition attribute.
I tried to install all versions after 1.68 up to 1.74 but the feed generated includes 0 records.
HELP guys. How can I fix this? I read the thread but could not find a suitable solution.
I am running zen cart 1.3.8a on php5. Thanks in advance.

http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

it takes a bit of time going through all the lines but just using find, you can catch where all the errors are.

hope this helps

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Thanks a lot,
But I am a bit curious about this. Why does version 1.68 work fine and not version 1.74.
I am not if I have any ASCII code anywhere but am looking through the codes now.
I just don't understand why the upgrade is breaking the feed.

Again thanks,

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

My google base products are uploading BUT I do get the following error: Expiration date is too far in the future (under Item Warnings in Google Base). The examples are showing me that my products (all of them) are showing an expiration date of 1 year out from the day I upload them to google. For example, I did a manually upload on 6/28/09 so the expiration date is showing 6/28/10. I have no idea what's causing this or where to change it????

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

About that 'condition' attribute for Google Base....

A prior post indicated it's already part of the mod, but I'm using v.1.6.8 - do I need to update to a newer version?

You can not have an Expiration date that far in the future. Google only excepts a 30 day Expiration date, so you need to go your store configurations/google_base_feedsr_configurations and set Expiration Date Adjust to 30 and everything will be right then.

Thank you! I didn't know how to change that. I appreciate it!

To add to this. Your errors on Google Base are informational. I had the same problem but GB automatically enforced an expiration date of 30 days and published them anyway. Better to avoid the errors by setting 30 days.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I have installed the feeder add on and google errors saying I have a missing attribute ISBN.

I dont sell products with an isbn, so how do I stop this error please?

Is it to do with product types and do I simply turn off product type documents?

Thanks

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Google Bases says that all new uploads files but contain a new column that specifies if a product is new or used. Is anyone working on an update to include this?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Google Base Feeder 1.7.4 already has this feature built into the module. You would found it under the Admin / Configuration / Google Base Feeder Configuration / Condition.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Can someone please help me?

I have installed google base on a 2nd site (works fine on 1st).

in zen cart it says records uploaded fine
i get an email from googlebase saying 0 products inserted
when i login in to googlebase to check on the status, it says processing.

I am finding this very confusing.

How can it say 0 inserted but still be processing?
why does it say processing for 2 days, when usually it takes an hour (for my other site).

Any help is much appreciated...?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Google just rejected my feed. It has been working fine but now there is this required condition attribute... I am using a version of the add on that has the condition option in the control panel and it is set to "new" but when I check the feed that attribute isn't included...

Any idea what's up?

could be that you didnt install every file / sql patch for the new version..
i just installed everything last night and the condition field is definitely there (both in admin and file).. i'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling everything from scratch.
