Why is my site so SLOOOOWWWW?

Here's the link:

http://www.bulldogpaintball.com/index.php?main_page=

The site is running really slowly. I've followed all of the directions I could find to speed it up (optimizing images, etc.) but it still is very slow.

If you could take a look at it and give me any suggestions, they would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is still a bit heavy on the images. I would suspect a hosting problem, your server may be overloaded.

Yeah, I'd find a new hosting provider asap. That's crazy!

Re: Why is my site so SLOOOOWWWW?

The connection time to the Server itself is normal which leads me to believe the slowness problem is with mySQL for the Server, not your site.

You can get handle on these types of problems by using the following option:
Admin > Configuration > Logging: Display The Page Parse Time = true

Then check the bottom of any page to see something like:
Parse Time: 0.787 - Number of Queries: 640 - Query Time: 0.21738149739075

If Parse or Query Time is > 1.0, refresh the page. If either is still over 1.0 then you know where the problem is. What you can do about is another story; either your Hoster changes you to another Server or you change your Hoster.

Re: Why is my site so SLOOOOWWWW?

Ok, I'll try that. I did call my hosting provider and they said they would fix some things on the server for me. I don't know if that means they will move the site to a different server, but at least they are very responsive to my problems.

I was going crazy optimizing all the images, never thought the problem would be with the server it was hosted on.

Website Rob,

Thanks for your help. That seems to be the problem. Parse and Query time are both at 9.7 or so for the pages. Crap!

Not the logging setting -

admin > config > logging > Display The Page Parse Time > set to "true"

This will display your parse times in the footer

I use OCC Hosting in Florida for about 6 sites that I maintain. Their support is great and so are there hosting packages.

Do you have your gzip compression enabled under your configuration tab?
