How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

Hello,

I am new to zencart and I am trying to get my wifes website migrated to it. I am using the classicx template. I am trying to get rid of the whitespace between the logo and the categories menu. I have circled the area in the picture below.

Your help is much appreciated,
Brian

You need to provide a url for this so we can determine if this is browser specific

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

You have this in your stylesheet.css file and you need to change the red highlighted value to 81px

#logoWrapper{
    background-image: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    background-color: #ffffff;
    height:120px;
}

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

I made the change. It pulled the header up but I still have the white space. Any other suggestions? I also went ahead and changed the logo back for testing purposes since the one I made is taller than 81px.

#logoWrapper{
background-image: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
background-repeat: repeat-x;
background-color: #ffffff;
height:81px;
}

Thanks again.

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

Current version is at 1.3.7

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

Look at the date in your stylesheet.css it is 2006-03-20 and not the stylesheet date that comes with 1.3.7 which is 2006-12-22.

There are several adjustments made to the new stylesheet.

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from an older version?

It was a fresh install kobra. I am using the ClassicXHTML template not the classic.

Below is the URL to the template I am using. Is this template not 1.3.7 compatible?

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

This was provided along with others before the the current "green" classic was developed and included. You might try basing your template upon the included "classic files" by copying them to another folder and editing the template_info.php file with a new name and see if this helps

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

Did someone ever find a solution to this question? As I am trying to do the same... my stylesheet date = 12/22/06 version 1.3.7 in the classic template folder.
I can't seem to find a solution to this either - except that its definitely a "padding" or "margin" around either the header_bg or something to do with the "navCatTabsWrapper" .
I found that changing the "body" background color includes this space we are trying to loose. Somewhere the spacing needs to be changed. Please rsvp if you know the anwser to this one....

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

:clap: OK, I solved the puzzle!!!!! Try adding this to your stylesheet (tested good for both IE and FF) You can view my results here: http://www.nutriguard.com/store

Here's the fix:

#navCatTabsWrapper {

margin-top:-12px;

}

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

Below is what I have in my Stylesheet that references navCatTabsWrapper.

I tried adding margin-top:-12px; to the last navCatTabsWrapper reference below. It didn't seem to change anything when using Firefox. It has always looked OK when using IE.

#navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper, #navCatTabsWrapper {
margin: 0em;
background-color: #abbbd3;
/background-color:rgb(214, 222, 156);/
background-image: url(../images/tile_back.gif);
padding: 0.5em 0.2em;
font-weight: bold;
color: #ffffff;
height: 1%;
}

#navCatTabsWrapper {
background-color: #ffffff;
color: #9a9a9a;
background-image:none;

}

Re: How do I get rid of whitespace on header (pic attached)

OK. I did get this to work using ksteele's suggestion. However to get it to work you have to remove the logo and modify the header.php. I don't know exactly what issue the logo causes with the gap but this solution will work for me. I don't need the logo. My Header is just one jpg.

header.php

define('HEADER_ALT_TEXT', '');
define('HEADER_SALES_TEXT', '');
define('HEADER_LOGO_WIDTH','');
define('HEADER_LOGO_HEIGHT', '');
define('HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE', '');If you do this you will also have to add the following to your styelsheet or a blank thumbnail image will show up when using IE.

#logo {
display: none;
}Thanks for the tip ksteele.
