Removing free shipping

Having started out with free shipping, and got it working, I've reviewed my sales and need to reinstate a flat charge for shipping.

I'm using vs 1.3.6.

I've uninstalled Free Shipping options and FREE SHIPPING Freeshipper (both now have a red button by them). I've configured Flat rate Shipping

Tax basis Shipping
Shipping Zone UKVAT
Sort order 0

I now have an orange button by the module and when an order is placed free shipping is still being applied.

Individual products are configured for normal shipping rules.

Must have forgotten to do something but I can't see what it is. Any suggestions, please?

Well, by trial and error this is now resolved.

I changed the shipping zone from UKVAT to none. The orange button is now green and flat rate shipping is being applied and not free shipping.

It would be good to understand that but .... at least its working now.
