Some Products not showing in catagories

I have been using Zen Cart since January now and all of a sudden a few of my catagories are showing nothing under them when you open the catagorie but over in the catagory list the correct number of items in that catagory are showing. Now it is quite possible that someone changed a setting since there are a couple of people who can add products to the store.

I have 14 catagories and right now two are not showing anything in them when I open them. I have read the forum here for a while looking for this problem and I have found a few people having it but I tried the fixes listed and they dont fix mine so Im asking for things to try.

Did someone put products in a top level category that already has subcategories? Top level categories can only have sub cats or products, not both.

No, I have 14 categories but no subcategories. The products are split up into these 14 catagories by type.

There are no products in the Top Category section just the catagories.

I should also add that the products do show up in the all products list....

I gave up and deleted all the products that had recently been added and started again and reload them. Its working now.

I am having this same issue. No products outside of categories or subcategories but all the sudden a whole category isn't showing its products.

If you look at http://www.lauschacanada.com, you'll see a category "Glass Effetre". Then, under that, there's a sub called "Transparent". Nothing is showing, despite the fact that it says that there are 58 active products.

This has happened to me before and it seems to be caused by a "bad product". Someone suggested creating a new category and moving the products into it until you find the one that causes everything else to "turn off". This is just really time consuming and I'd love to know why it happens in the first place.

Any other suggestions?

I click Glass Effetre and get all the SubCategories ... then I click them and get Products ...

What is it that you are not getting that you think you should be getting? :smile:

If you go to Effetre and then click on Transparent (last subcategory under Effetre), none of the products show - even though there are supposedly 58 active products.

I actually need to try to fix this tonight so as of 7:51pm PST, it's not working but I may move stuff into another category and try to solve the problem in an hour or two.

By the way, asssortments aren't working either under Effetre. I can only find one "good" product so far that doesn't turn the whole category off.

We ARE using ImageHandler and I'm letting the client put in all the photos so I'd better check some photo sizes because I think they're breaking on the front end.

You have bad data from what I can see ...

That could very well be the issue here ... let us know for sure if that is what you find causing the problem ...

If you look at the products_id for these Products in the category for Transparent, you can go to each separately on the product _info page and see what breaks to narrow things down ...
