IE6/7 display issue with center boxes...

I've noticed that the bottom border of my center boxes stops half way down!

This only happens in IE6 and IE7. FF2 is fine.

The problem can be viewed at the link (adult toys website) below:

http://www.beyondeuphoria.co.uk/super-slik-250ml-p-1573.html

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance! :)

Re: IE6/7 display issue with center boxes...

Try adding the following to your stylesheet> .centerBoxContentWrapper {overflow:auto}to force IE to calculate a height for the div.

Re: IE6/7 display issue with center boxes...

I just found another display problem with IE6/7.

If only 2 items are displayed in the centerBox they are shown one below the other (instead of side by side).

For example...

http://www.beyondeuphoria.co.uk/colt-sta-hard-cream-p-621.html

Is there an easy way to sort this using css?

No easy fix using CSS unfortunately, as the problem is likely to flow from the inline CSS used to set the width of the div containing the product info. This CSS can't be over-written. Hopefully as Zen Cart evolves, this will change.

In the meantime, there's an explanation here of what I suspect is happening on your when it's viewed via IE. The relevant stuff kicks in from post 6.

The solution would be slightly different for you as you would need to find the php that embeds this CSS inline for the centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch div and tweak that in a similar fashion to that suggested in the thread mentioned in the previous paragraph.

Re: IE6/7 display issue with center boxes...

Thanks for this. I'll have a read and see what I come up with.

At the moment I'm suffering from major IE7 issues on my desktop (not Zen Cart Related). It seems to use 100% of my cpu when I view certain web pages and then doesn't release it. So, it just keeps on using 100% of my resources!

Yeah... I have a few hosting issues at the moment. Should be sorted now. I really need to reinstall my server and will probably do so in the next few days.

I tried this and it did not work for me. Does it need to be put somewhere in particular in the styleshee? Here is a link to my test shop: https://www.vintageknits.net/new_store

This is the last hurdle that I have to get over before completing my upgrade.

That's because your template is structured differently. You don't have a centerBoxContentsWrapper class.

You would need to add> .centerBoxWrapper {overflow:auto}

That is what I added. I put .centerBoxWrapper {overflow:auto} in the stylesheet and it did not work. Does this need to be put somewhere specific? I added it directly as above, does it need to be typed or labeled differently? I have since taken it out since it did not work.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to say why it hasn't worked for you without seeing how you implemented it. It would also be useful to know which version of IE you are having problems with.

I am using IE 6. Does that one line need to go somewhere in particular in the css? I will try it again to see what happens.

Re: IE6/7 display issue with center boxes...

Aha. I tested with IE7 which does correctly calculate the DIV height when overflow:auto is applied. However, IE6 still doesn't. If you add height:1% to .centerBoxWrapper, IE6 will also fall into line.

You are absolutely brilliant! The 1% worked and IE 6 looks good. Can you give this one last look in IE 7 to see if it looks ok in IE 7. Thank you so much. IE is really a pain, I never would have thought of your solution to this problem.
