Google Checkout Installation Help! ZenCart!

Hi, I am a new user. I just installed Zen Cart and googlecheckout module. Everyting is fine until I get into the admin area to modify the options for google checkout. When I click the 'edit' button to modify the parameters, it gave me the following message **

This function is defined in the admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/added_function_for_google_checkout.php. Check that you have google checkout installed correctly, with all the proper folders created.

The appearance of the Google Checkout text is a flaw. It shouldn't appear in the 2nd checkout screen. Search the big thread for ways to work around it. Your customer should only see a GCO button under a couple of scenarios. One is when they are looking at their shopping cart contents and the other is when they intially log in.

For you second question, I believe the answer is yes.

And it did overwrite teh files when i put them in the templates folder

I'm having the same issue with this. Google Checkout is appearing within the admin and I can set my merchant id etc but this error appears when trying to login.

Any ideas?

sorted - missed a file.

OK - having got the module installed and configure, I'm having bother checking out using the module.

For example, when I buy a product and then go to checkout, I get this error:

Sorry, we are not accepting payments from your region at this time.
Please contact us for alternate arrangements.

What am I doing wrong?

What region would that be?

My test customer account is set to UK. I notice that GC is the only payment module that isn't able to set Payment Zone and I think this may be the issue?

You can apply shipping zones with Google Checkout, both with 1.3RC2 and the new 1.4 (which is highly recommended). That might help you work around your zone payments requirement issue.

But in your "test" if you were a UK buyer with a credit card accepted by GC, and the shipping address is a UK address, I suspect something else wrong with your order and/or posted cart which generated your error.

Was this a "test" order on a live shop with production Google Checkout account? Or was it a sandbox test?

Was it a real credit card used or a test credit card?

If using v.1.4 mod then post any relevant entries from both your googlecheckout message and error logs and also any relevant error messages showing up in your Google Checkout account (Settings tab > Integration).

I've added the items to my cart and went to checkout, I choose my delivery method and then click onto the payment method - I'm then told that my shop is not accepting payments from my region at this time. GC is the only module this is happening with.

This is only a Zen Cart side issue as yet - nothing has been passed to GC, the issue is that I can't elect to pay using GC. When configured, I can use any other payment module.

I've got it setup for GC sandbox currently but can't see it making a difference given that I'm not passing anything to GC just yet.

How can the payment zone be set with GC 1.4?

I've attached a screen shot of the config for GC with my merchant details blanked.

Since your question is about mod v.1.4 please post your issue to the new support forum. This thread is for versions previous to v1.4.

But I can state that you have not updated your template files with the files/code provided in the new 1.4 mod version. Google Checkout button should only show on the login page and the shopping cart page. You should not be seeing Google Checkout payment option on the Zen Cart payment method checkout page.

This issue has been repeatedly discussed in this thread and also on the new support forum. Again please do not reply to this issue here. If after reading the doc pages on the new support forum, if you're still not sure what to do post your v1.4 issue to new support forum discussion area.

I am also getting this error under the "Welcome, Please Sign In" part of the order.

1. You NEVER should OVERWRITE your files in your template_default directory (well, almost never). Those files should remain untouched.

(In the hope that you backed up the files before you overwrote them, restore those files to template_default).

2. You want to OVERRIDE those files by uploading the template files provided with the mod, to YOUR custom template directory (whatever you have named your custom template/directory).

3. Note your home directory paths indicated in the error statements are completely different. They should be the same. This is very odd and incorrect.

4. Recommend that you read the Zen Cart FAQ regarding "template overrides". Until you have knowledge how overrides work in Zen Cart it will be difficult for you to proceed any further. Template overrides are fundamental to customizing Zen Cart.

I have installed GCO before , but somehow on my latest one the GCO option is just not showing in modules/payment. Maybe it is a template directory issue, am using a barebones style but do get a bit confused about YOUR_TEMPLATE and your_template.

Perhaps Zen is looking in the wrong dir first?

Any help would be most appreciated
