Retail And Wholesale Store Sharing Same Pictures

I would like to have 2 stores setup on the same domain. 1 store would be my retail store (domain home) and the other store would be my wholesale store (domain/wholesale). I would like for the wholesale store to use the retail stores pictures as this seems like a logical thing to do to save space and probably increase performance. Is there some easy fix I can do to get the pictures on the wholesale site to look in the retail stores image folder?

Might be easier to have a look at the "Dual Pricing" module in the downloads area as I believe that this allows 2 pricing levels in the SAME shop....where you allow only those that you want to see them....

But yes you can point one of the shops to a specific folder/dir for the product images

Thanks for the suggestion but I really don't want to use the dual pricing mode.

If somebody could point me in the right direction to how to modify the code to look at another directory I would greatly appreciate it.

While I have not done this I believe you can repoint this in your 2 configure.php files - look for this (highlight mine) and read what I have emphasized in blue... this if it is is going to work will need a full hard coded path as it is red as relative. Might have to move it elsewhere.....and maybe another that has done this might post...

Just make sure that you have local copies of the originals and know where they are if it messes things up - just replace with the originals

I think you are on to something. It may not be easy to use the Retail Sites Pictures but maybe it would be easy to use the wholesale sites pictures as it would be accessible to the retail sites directory path? If anyone has any other solutions I would love to hear them. I am not anxious to try this solution but might could try with the admin folder just for grins.
