Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

No matter how many items I add, I get 0 weight.

I have set it to show the weight at cart, except when it is 0lbs

But the weight never changes at the shopping cart screen.

Total Items: 1 Amount: $49.99

No weight.. and if I put it to show weight even if it 0, it shows only 0lbs

Any ideas?

Re: Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

You probably have more problems than just the weight- you have misconfigured your cart by not using any top level categories. (btw- your server is horribly slow)

Re: Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

I know, I never figured out how to add categories, after I added one product, I didn't see a way to add it.

Also, dreamhost does suck, I'll move it soon, but right now its on a free hosting plan I had.

Would you help me :)

Re: Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

If your products are all marked Always Free Shipping then they have no weight even if you add weight to them ...

This was exactly the problem! I didn't think it would still say 0lbs, because even if it is free, weight should be calculated.

I fixed that problem now!

But now the google checkout module usps rates are all $0.00, I even tried this fix

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=389857

Could it be anything else? if not than I'll post my question on the google thread.

Scatch this, the debug log said I am not authorized yet for usps, so I'll wait until than to pass judgment on the module

Re: Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

If you wanted to move all products in categories_id 0 to categories_id 1 what you can do is ... in the Tools ... Insert SQL Patches ... run the command:

UPDATE products_to_categories SET categories_id=1 where categories_id= 0

The Products will vanish ...

Make a Category, and it should assume categories_id 1 and the products will re-appear in there ...

Then go to the Tools ... Store Manager ... and run the Update master categories id and the Update Products Price Sorter ... in that order ...

And now you should have your database setup with everything in a Category properly and all settings back to normal ...

Re: Shopping cart showing 0LB weight

Thanks,

I contacted USPS, they have added me to their production.

I have a couple problems now.

In the zen cart it will show the weight as 2LBS. However when estimate shipping it says 5lbs, which as you can guess greatly increases the price.

If you want to see this, add the wii remote to the cart(this is the only item I am testing with others have f/s)

But flowers show more love :)

You wouldn't happen to know why google checkout does not show the usps rates would you? keeps showing the price I set incase it can not connect.
