Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

Hi everyone,

I want my category heading "Bags" to show even when I click on one of the products on that category. Right now, it shows "4/6", and "prev", "listing" and "next". I want the category header to be on top of it.

Does anyone know what I mean and can anyone give me some guidance on this please?

Thank you!

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

I'm guessing you are referring to the breadcrumbs which shows the trail from category to sub-category, etc. above that (prev) Listing (next) info.

Admin -> Configure -> Layout Settings -> Define Breadcrumb Status -> 1

Give a holler if this is not what you are looking for. Also, a URL would be helpful. :cool:

Also, if the photo/clipart uploaded for the category will show above the product title; if no art/pic is uploaded, only the words will show between the product title and the breadcrumbs. Hope this makes sense.

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks anyway, but no, I did not mean the breadcrumbs, I already enabled it via admin. What I meant was that I want the Category Header to display on the top part of the page of the product details as well. Right now when you click ".. more info", it goes to the product page without the category heading at the center column--I want it to appear.

I'm doing it on my own server, so I can't give a live URL, but I'll be able show what I want to achieve when I get back home.

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

Hi Amy:

How about this:

Admin -> Configuration -> Product Info ->Previous Next - Navigation Includes Category Position

Set this to "1". Other options you can dink with, too.

Hope this helps.

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

Oh, and the title is actually the Category title styled with CSS, and not an image. The text below it is the description, controlled via admin. Hope this is a clearer representation of what I am trying to do.

TQ!

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

Hey, thanks for the pic! It definitely helped me understand the ?

Not sure why not showing though just for GPs, I'd double check the font color on that page to be sure the text is not washed out in the color bar.

Alas, this exhausts my thoughts on the matter for the moment if that Admin menu does not give you what you need.

I wish you luck. Someone will wander over and be able to shed some light to help with this.

Re: Category Heading -- to show when product page is shown

If you know a bit of php just put this in the product_info template

<?php echo zen_get_category_name($current_category_id); ?>

This should echo teh current category of the product.

Cheers,
