Customers Unable to log in (sometimes)

Alright, as of late I've had reports of difficulty in the buying process from customers, and have recently experienced the problem myself. Sometimes when I go to log in to my site as a customer the page refreshes, but the "Log Out/MyAccount/etc" buttons to not appear and the session seems to dissolve.

At first I thought it was due to some onload javascript that I had implemented, as it seemed to work for a while after tinkering with it, but I've disabled it and just ran into the same problem this morning. I have firefox with firebug and it reports no errors... The only onload javascript enabled now is for the google analytics mod and it has been working fine for some time.

Alright, it's been a whopping 2 minutes since I made my post and I may have it figured out. The session directory was set to a folder that didn't, well, exist. I'll post back if the problem persists.
