These set the size for all images found that represent "subcategory pages" (if you have any subcategories). If you only have 1 level of categories, this will not pertain to you. It refers to the page(s) that you would come to if you clicked on a category with a subcategory under it. On the preceding page, you can represent the subcategory with an image if you like.

Calculate Image Size
Asks if you want the cart to automatically calculate the image size. This is useful in allowing the cart to determine the "best" height and width of an image based on the various height and width parameters you set on this page (the images page).

Image Required true
Determines if you want images to be required. If set to True, and an image is not present for a product, then you'll get the "no image" graphic in place of where the product image would typically go. If set to False, and a product does not have an image associated with it, the page will just be left "blank" in the spot where the graphic would usually show.

These are the images you'll find on the "Shopping Cart Page(s)" (when a user is viewing their shopping cart). You would have to also set the system to show the product images in the shopping cart as well.

These are the images that you can use (if you choose to do so) to represent each individual "Top Level" Category. Similar to "sub cats", but works for the Top Level.

When you have MULTIPLE subcategories under one main category the "Top Level" subcategory image is the one that appears on the "first subcategory". For example, the following representation may help.

All these images are what you find on the MAIN Product "info page" (when you click down to the individual product level). The "Additional images per row" only pertain to you if a product has "multiple images" (which you would have added from within the Admin).

These images are found on the "image product listing pages" (those that list MULTIPLE products on one single page.) You arrive at pages like this typically when a user clicks on a link that lists out more than one product on a page (like search results etc...)

Sets image size only for NEW products (if showing on site).

Turns on or off the settings for whether or not you want to show a default image for a product that has no image. The first part here sets it to show or not. The second part here allows you to enter the image you want to use. (You might say "No Image For This Product" or "No Image Available" etc...
