Shipping: base price + price for each additional item

Hi everyone,

I have a question about shipping. Is there a solution for me if I wanted to set a base price + price for each additional item for different categories; ie:

for fabrics, shipping price starts at USD6 for one metre, then with each metre added on, it increases by USD2.
For tools, shipping price starts at USD 4, with each additional tool in the category, an increase of USD1.

How do I go about configuring this? Or should I go by weight option?
