Very Odd problem in the tpl_footer.php file.

I am having a very odd problem in the tpl_footer.php for some reason when I am making a an href it will automaticly make it http://mysite.com/http://mysite.com/indexthenmyproductinfo

So obviously this isn't working out to well lol.

I know how to make href also and for some reason if I just make one of them it is fine, but if I make a nice neat paragraph explaining about my site and include some hrefs to diffrent places in my site this starts to happen. It does it to every one of them not just one when I make a paragraph.

Anyone else experiance this?

I didn't leave it on my site, but here is my site name if someone wants to view source to make sure my site isn't doing something it isn't suppose to. Also please be aware this is an adult site and there is adult content. http://orgazmictoys.com

Anyones help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

<a href="http://www.kayleenwest.com.au" target="_blank">Web Site by Kayleen West</a>. Powered by <a href="http://www.zen-cart.com" target="_blank">Zen Cart</a>

'E-Start your web store' book - I Got it and now ..... I GET IT !....Well alot more of it anyway (-:

<a href="http://www.kayleenwest.com.au" target="_blank">Web Site by Kayleen West</a>. Powered by <a href="http://www.zen-cart.com" target="_blank">Zen Cart</a>

This is what I was doing <a href="http://mysitename.com">product name</a>

I shouldn't have to have the target and the quote right or maybe I am missing something.

Attention below I have pasted adult content wording so please be advised befor reading.

This is what I have tried to do below. I have done this before and it worked many times.

Re: Very Odd problem in the tpl_footer.php file.

I am expericancing this problem in the tpl_footer.php file. When I make something like this. <a href="http://mysitename.com">product name</a>

When i go to click on product name it looks like this.

http://mysite.com/http://mysite.com/indexmyproductinformationandso_on

Why I think this is a java overload is because I went reading on google and found a thread exactly like mine. I then told this was caused by java overloading on the page.

I am getting this problem in my tpl_footer.php

I first started tracking down the only mod that I have installed lately and asked oracle about it he said that there is no java script that could affect this his work is purley php the only javascript he had implamented is in the admin side.

Within three weeks this has happened. I had this up for a very long time took it down to reword and make it sound better never even changed a href or anything, then just put it up last night and I started getting this problem.

I was told that this can come from the overide header which has javascript.

The only other thing I have is my google analytics which is javascript pasted below. However I don't think that this could cause the problem. I don't want to have to take it out of there, because none of my stats will come up for a week.

If anyone could help this would be great.

Thanks
Matt

Yes, I am adding page contents so that my relavance is better for my meta. Just kinda of an introduction to my store but yet using inside links in my site so the spiders find my stuff easier. This also helps for higher pr.

There are many links threw out it.

Thanks

Re: Very Odd problem in the tpl_footer.php file.

I finally found the problem and I think a small amount of code would fix this. However I am not sure how to do thisi n php because i suck at it lol. I am looking it up however and then I can post it later. I am just good with .net coding.

Ok the problem is zen-cart dosn't support two diffrent kinds of quotes and not many people know that there are two diffrent kinds of quotes.

Here are the two diffrent types.

“ "

Kinda odd yes, but I have read many posts where others have had the same problem. If you use the one to the left this won't work however if you use the one to the right it works perfect. Certain programs or addons that many people have with microsoft office cause this. I am one of them.

How to get rid of this, just highlight the right quote above and select encoding then select auto select. However when you go back and use microsoft or any other text pad of a sort this can change back, because when you use your addon program that caused this it will go back to it's original form. I am tracking down which addon does this and will post when I do.

Zen-Cart team is there anything that you can do about this? Add some coding perhaps to allow this. I hope it's possible for the sake of others because when there small you can't tell the diffrence and you lose days of time figuring this out.

Thanks
Matt

Re: Very Odd problem in the tpl_footer.php file.

This comes from someone using a word processing program to edit code, instead of a text editor. It is strenuously warned against, but obviously some of the results can be subtle and slip through unnoticed (for a while).

Isn't this an easy fix though. I know in vb.net you would make feilds of what you allow su as just example if (a-z) or (A-Z) = such and such feild then

This isn't exactly the code it is just an example so couldn't you just put a feild accept if (this quote, this quote) = page code allow this text Just example.

More of a psuedocode example above lol.
