Uploading product attributes resets attribute flags.

I'm trying to use Easy Populate to upload the product attributes to my products, but when I do, all of the attribute flags (default, required, etc...) are reset. So, do I need to go into mySQL to make changes? And if so, can someone tell me where the attribute flags are stored in the data base? -Thanks
