Product ID number not showing on invoice

I sell one of a kind items, Each has a unique id number generated bij Zencart. When an item is sold, i receive an order with unique order id. This order id is showing and it mentions the text of the sold item but NOT the product ID which I need to get the right item. How can this be shown in my order/invoice etc.:blink:

Im am trying to find the same thing. Did you ever find an answer or does anyone want to shed some light

You would need to change how the order email is built in the orders class to include the extra information that you need ...

Or, you can change the information displayed on the order in the Admin ...

And change the select statements and displays so you can see the products_id from the orders_products table ...

Hi, i know this page is 3 years old but this question still goes unanswerered. I also need to know how to get the product ID to show on the order page. Or even better would be a link to the product from the order page, otherwise how are people supposed to know which item to ship?? i have thousands of items.

Ahhh... I use the model number!!

My items dont have model numbers. Some of my items have the same title as other items, what if 2 people buy one of each item with same title, how would i know which item to send to which person?
The item title is the only info i am seeing in the order page to identify the item sold.
I would really like to find a way for a link to the item sold to be right on the order page.
On the front end of the shopping cart in the search results all the item titles are links to specific products pages with thier own product ID, i want to know how to make the item titles on the order page be links. i would be willing to pay someone to help with this.

Please, what are select statements? I have looked at this file and i have no idea what to change. Its been another half year since i have been trying to figure out how to do this. Does anyone know of a company or person who provides support for zencart ? I would be willing to pay for help.

Look for the code around line 394 in the:
/admin/orders.php

where the products_name is displayed and try changing to:

           '            <td class="dataTableContent" valign="top">' . 'ID#' . $order->products[$i]['id'] . ' - ' . $order->products[$i]['name'];

That should display the products_id when you edit the Order ...

THANKS SO MUCH FOR EXPLAINING THIS. I ADDED THIS AND NOW WHEN I CLICK ON AN ORDER IN "ADMIN HOME" AND CLICK ON THE ACTUAL ORDER, I CAN SEE THE products_id=xxxx NEXT TO THE TITLE. EXAMPLE:

1 x ID#XXXX - part title here 0% $amount $amount $amount $amount

ALSO, IF YOU WANT THIS TO SHOW UP WHEN YOU CLICK ON INVOICE (from admin and not paypal), THEN ADD THAT CODE IN POST #11 THAT "Oba-san" MENTIONED TO /admin/invoice.php

REMEMBER TO MAKE BACKUP BEFORE EDITING FILE. NEVER KNOW.

note: If you want the products_id= to show up BEFORE the quantities box, then add that the code from "Oba-san" on the line above what he mentioned. Here is my code for that part of the admin/orders.php file I edited that I used to have the order number before the quantities. So, my order reads

Products ID="what ever your product id is" - "quantity ordered" x "whatever product name you put when listed" - "tax rate" "price incl." "price exc" "total ex" "total inc"

'            <td class="dataTableContent" valign="top" align="right">'. 'Products_ID='. $order->products[$i]['id'] . ' - ' .$order->products[$i]['qty'] . ' x</td>' . "\n" .

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SEES, BUT I WILL CHECK TOMORROW AND UPDATE. I AM JUST HAPPY THAT I NOW CAN SEE EASILY EXACTLY WHAT product_id= CUSTOMER ORDERED.

I have a slightly different requirement. In my shop, The Model Number assigned to the Attribute (my_stock_id) is what I need to see on the Order Screen, Packing List and Invoice, and I could care less about the Product ID#.

Most of my products have attributes, but some don't - so I need to be able to handle both, by listing either **my_stock_id **from the (products_with_attributes_stock) table, or the **products_model** from the (products) table.

I've looked at the three files impacted by such change, but I'm not prepared to blindly delve in, since I know nothing about PHP.

Can you help?

I do not use your add on so I do not know anything about the table and its relationship to the Products or Attributes to tell you what to do here ...

Usually, you need to do a select for the information in the table to be able to get the data that you need ...
