SSL/CSR: Does this sound reasonable?
Hi everyone,
Once again, I've encountered a dead end thanks to my web host. I purchased a Comodo InstantSSL cert via instantssl.com. Cost me $200 for 3 years. Thinking all that would be required was the CSR generation, I contacted easyspace hoping they would sort it out. This was their reply:
Thanks for contacting Support Services.
I have been informed by our system admin that we are not allow a host third
party SSL certificate on our servers. You would still need to pay an admin fee
for an individual IP to be allocated to it, and work to be carried out. This is
usually the same price as our full SSL certificate package. Please visit
http://www.easyspace.com/eCommerce.php for more information.
By the way, they want £200 ($400) per year to provide me with their own ssl package. I'm at my wit's end with this site (after having transferred to easyspace when streamline.net wouldn't support zen cart on their servers!)
Any ideas on a possible recourse?
Thanks in advance,
Niall
