Same email address entered for subscription, error message

Same email address entered for subscription, error message

When I tried to enter the same email address to subscribe to the newsletter (on my sidebox) twice, I get the following red box with the message" This email address has already placed a Newsletter-Only subscription. If you did not receive the confirmation request, please email..."

But with this 3 paragraphs following it: ---->

**Why didn't it just display a simple message (or just the red box?). What went wrong?
