Open file in a new window (PDF)

Hi,

I have a page on my site that contains some PDF documents. I want my customers to be able to open these files in a new window.

If I create a link using text, I have no problem choosing "new window (_blank)" and the PDF file opens in a new window. However if I have a small PDF icon (png image), and I link from that, choosing the same way to open the file, It does not work. I just opens the PDF document in my website.

This is extremely bad, as when most people want to go back to my site after having read the PDF document, they would just close the window, but now, they also close my shop.

Please help.
