Prev / Next Navigation Links

Hi,
Couldnt find the answer to this so im hoping someone might have a solution. When a customer goes in to a category and clicks on a product they then have the prev and next navigation links - BUT - if it is a multi linked item, the customer could suddenly find themselves in a completely different category as the prev/next buttons seem to go off the master category - for example, someone looking at fairies comes across several fairies (master category fairies) then looks at fairies vs dragons tic tac toe (master category tic tac toe) - when they click on the 'next' button it goes to the next one in the tic tac toe category - I cannot have items in a category tied to a master category without multi linking - is it possible to have prev & next buttons only working within the CATEGORY that they are in? All else failing how do i take the prev & next button off?

Hi Lyn,

Not sure about what to do with the master category thing, but you could turn off the navigation from Admin -> Configuration -> Product Info -> Previous Next - Navigation Bar Position

This has been updated in v1.3.8 to keep the customer within the current category rather than flipping between the master_categories_id so that there isn't the confusion that it might cause the customer ...

O that's great news Linda ! Thank you ! I was just adding a ferrets category to my shop, which has some products linked from the cats category; if people go into the ferrets category and click around and found themselves suddenly looking at catnips, it sure would be confusing to them, so I disabled the navigation buttons altogether, which I didn't really wanna do but only did it as a last resort.

May I ask though, how much was changed in the codes in order to keep the visitors in the same category? If it wasn't a whole lot, could we maybe have those codes before the 1.3.8 release? My shop is gonna launch in 2 weeks and it will make a HUGE difference to be able to have the navigation back.

Quite a bit of work went into these changes and they are related to other changes ...

We are working as fast as we can to get Zen Cart v1.3.8 out ... :smile:

Is there any way to separate them with white space?
