Disabling Coupon Codes for Sale Items

Hi All-

I have been searching all over the place to find a way to disable the ability for coupons to be used on sale/clearance/discounted/special items. Is there any way to do this on Zen Cart?

This is not a feature of the Discount Coupons in Zen Cart ...

You would need to customize the code or exclude products that cannot be included with the Discount Coupon ...

It is always an option as we refine features ... it is a feature I would some time like to pursue further but is not yet high priority ...

You can also exclude Products or whole Categories from a Discount Coupon if you need to ... often that helps in this situation ...

When you create the Discount Coupon, you will see the RESTRICTIONS button for setting restrictions on a Discount Coupon ...

NOTE: when utilizing Restrictions, always test the Discount Coupon under many circumstances to ensure that it is working the way you think it should be working ...

Now how will the customers to know which products they cannot use their discount coupons on? So they don't waste their time...

The could use that neat link in the Information Sidebox for Discount Coupons and enter in their Discount Coupon code ... :smile:
