How to sort All Products Listings?

I have inputted sort order for all my products, however when I click show all products, it still lists them in alphabetical order. How do I go about fixing this to the sort order I set?

I'd peek at the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

Do you know if there is a way for me to have a dropdown for the customers to re-sort the products in the way they want?

ie. sort by name, sort by price, sort by manufacturer...

have a client requesting it.

All Products and Product Listing are two different things ...

Look at the URL of the page you want sorted or at the Link that you are clicking ...

Which are you really wanting to sort? All Products or Product Listing?

Product Listing uses the titles of the menubar above each column to sort ... if this is what you need click the title of the column of the displayed information and look at the sort= setting in the URL when it is correct ... and you will see the setting in the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

If this is the All Products, you will see the choices in the Configuration ... All Listing ...

NOTE: Product Listing is designed to only offer a sort order based on displayed information ... 0 = OFF and any other value for the product information is its display order in the columns per row ...

I have tried to use this to sort my products by Date Added desc, but no matter what I do the default sort order remain by Product Name. Is this perhaps being overridden from somewhere else?

Have you an URL to the page that is not displaying right when you have it set to Date Added Descending that we could peek at, perhaps?:smile:

Hi I tried putting 5 (for Model) in the setting:
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
but it didn't make a difference.

Is this the correct way to sort my product listings by model number?
