Upc/isbn Product Fields

v1.0 UPC/PRODUCT FIELDS

Creates two new columns in the PRODUCTS table called products_upc and products_isbn;

Allows store owners to input UPC and ISBN into each product from product.php within the ADMIN;

This modification was created to be used with the upcoming release of the GOOGLE BASE FEEDER v1.4.3 which now requires UPC for all non-book products and ISBN for all books to be displayed in the bulk feed file. The information stored is not yet visible to the customer but can easily be added to the product listing if someone would like to provide an update (v1.0.1);

For use with Zen Cart v1.3.7;

V1.2 UPC/ISBN PRODUCT FIELDS

  1. bug fix;

Since there is no change history in the readme file, can you please confirm if all files are affected or did you only change \admin\includes\modules\product\collect_info.php?

Thanks!

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

That is the only file affected. You do not need to upgrade since you already fixed the problem yourself.

BTW,

If you plan on using these fields, I recommend Quick Updates v2.03a. Version 2.03b is for the ePier Generator and is unnecessary unless using ePier.com.

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

Just discovered another issue. The UPC/ISBN field is not available on the product page on the admin side if the product type is Music. Any ideas?

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

I guess each product type uses a different form. So, this module is only relevant to GENERAL product types then.

That's really too bad that this doesn't support the standard Zen Cart music product type. Considering that upc is easy available for music product type, that would have been great to have upc field for music. Oh well!

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

Next release I'll look into it. I didn't even know that there were other files for other product types since I've only ever used GENERAL. You might be able to do a quick fix in the meantime yourself by editing the files used for that product type. Just copy what I did in the general product page or wait til I get around to adding it :)

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

This module is no longer supported, please upgrade to the Auction Site Attributes which includes the UPC/ISBN mods.

Since so many of my mods support the Auction Site Attributes add-on, I have created it's own release announcement thread here:

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

Has anyone got it so that the UPC shows up on the product info page yet? I tried doing this, but it does not show up.

Re: Upc/isbn Product Fields

I just installed this mod before I found out it was not supposed. I am fairly new to Zen Cart and still learning, but I am now getting the following message when I try to open my product detail page from within Admin:

1054 Unknown column 'p.products_weight_type' in 'field list'
in:
[select pd.products_name, pd.products_description, pd.products_url, p.products_id, p.products_quantity, p.products_model, p.products_upc, p.products_isbn, p.products_image, p.products_price, p.products_virtual, p.products_weight, p.products_weight_type, p.products_dim_type, p.products_length, p.products_width, p.products_height, p.products_ready_to_ship, p.products_date_added, p.products_last_modified, date_format(p.products_date_available, '%Y-%m-%d') as products_date_available, p.products_status, p.products_tax_class_id, p.manufacturers_id, p.products_quantity_order_min, p.products_quantity_order_units, p.products_priced_by_attribute, p.product_is_free, p.product_is_call, p.products_quantity_mixed, p.product_is_always_free_shipping, p.products_qty_box_status, p.products_quantity_order_max, p.products_sort_order, p.products_discount_type, p.products_discount_type_from, p.products_price_sorter, p.master_categories_id from products p, products_description pd where p.products_id = '2' and p.products_id = pd.products_id and pd.language_id = '1']
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Does anyone know how this happened or how to fix it?
