SQL issue viz mySQL db v5, or other problem?

DrByte,

I just discovered I had failed to edit one line of the configuration.php, both the one in /includes and /admin/includes. The line I missed was the last one:

define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/express/www/www/cache');

This might explain the lack of a "/" between the www and the /includes folder.

But after uploading and changing permissions on both files, as soon as I accessed the site by its domain, it switched over to zc_install folder and ran the instal. I then figured I better go along with this despite that the information asked is what I had already manually edited in both the config files.

Nevertheless, when trying to save the data, it crashed, displaying mountains of code above the installer page and suggesting it's a permissions issue.

Our server runs suExec, so permissions are not an issue and CHMODing simply reverts to the server's own decision. This should not be an issue here because we have another zencart running on the same server network, same environment, without too much trouble.

What I find peculiar is that why does one need even to manually edit the config files when after all, during installation the same questions are asked so that these inputs can be written to the config files. What's the point?

Either way or anyway, laugh at me all if you must but I'm going to get drunk, cry and swear off zencart for at least a month.

I am yet to find a coder, be that one of the zen crew or anywhere else, who understands the concept of "simple". When a coder tells me he wrote the instal to be simple, I always know it will cause many sleepless nights.

:shocking:

Re: SQL issue viz mySQL db v5, or other problem?

Hi Folks,

I am also having an issue after uploading the debug version of autoload_func.php; kindly provided by DrByte :) cheers

The following is my error on this page http://www.dinkydesign.net/shop/admin/

actionPoint=>0 FAILED: include('C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/My Documents/Web Sites/www.dinkydesign.net/includes/classes/class.base.php');
actionPoint=>0 FAILED: include('C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/My Documents/Web Sites/www.dinkydesign.net/includes/classes/class.notifier.php');

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: notifier in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Web Sites\www.dinkydesign.net\shop\includes\autoload_func.php on line 79" in the above mentioned posts.

Has anyone got any suggestions as i have read through this thread and others and found myself with a broken admin area although a lot of the site functions correctly.

I have checked the paths and the files i have uploaded all seem to be there and no zero file sizes.

I am addicted to Zen Cart and love the fantastic sites i have the pleasure to be involved with that all utilise Zen Cart...

regards

Is there any chance you can run your testing from a folder that doesn't contain spaces in its name?
