Hi Dan and thanks for getting back to me.

Sorry to read about all this trouble though. I hope something can be worked out and this thread along with DPU is not deleted as I believe it to be a most worthwhile addition to ZenCart and at the very least I would like to say thank you for creating it and giving up what you have in supporting it so that others can use it.

Please give me a day or two to re-enable the mod or install it on my test cart as I have a couple of things I am working on at the moment. So I will get back to you shortly.

Thank you for your support. As far as I'm aware this support thread is still due for deletion today because there is no way I'm going to change my code (except to fix something) now and I don't particularly appreciate the bureaucratic way this was 'handled'

Anyway, enough of my whining; if you could give it a test for me I would be most grateful. Should you find this thread deleted please feel free to PM me or contact me through my site (although I tend to very rarely check that address; I'll update it this afternoon to compensate). I will still continue to support this in any way I can as helping people is the entire reason I created the Updater

Dan, all contributors are asked to GPL their code and submit it to the Free Software Add Ons area. If you can do this, we can clean out the posts from ermo and you'll be all set.

No hard feelings - the core team is just trying to keep the forum free of long-term zip files that would be better stored somewhere else.

There. There it is. Had I been asked to GPL my code I would most likely have apologised for my oversight and rectified the situation. Instead I was immediately threatened with (thread) deletion. I suppose even this wouldn't be too bad excepting that I was seeking assistance when attention was drawn to this. Add to this that the comment made to me also applied to the person who has very shoddily 'improved' my code (by hacking core files) and it doesn't paint a favourable picture for me. I actually feel like a pariah at the moment

I think that all posts relating to this issue should be removed because I don't want either of us (myself or the Zen moderators) to appear petty and small. I'm happy to forget this ever happened. As soon as I've received the apology I believe I deserve (feel free to disseminate why I don't) I will update the licence (which, again, I'm not happy about) and upload it to the repository. At this point I believe I will be afforded some protection for my code in case incapable and unimaginative people decide to alter it, yes?

Chrome, you are a valued member of the community.
The community has rules. Everyone is subject to them.
One of the rules is that contributions be submitted to the Free Software Add Ons area with a GPL license.

People are allowed to attach zip files to posts, but these are intended to be temporary (to permit beta testing and so forth), not long lasting.

As the moderator of that area, one of the things I do is reject changes that third parties make to mods which are still being actively supported. So when you submit a mod, as long as you support your mod, you will be the only one allowed to change it.

Please go ahead and submit your mod using the "Submit your file" link at the top right of

Once that's done, the zip will be removed from the first entry of this thread and replaced with a link to the Free Software Add Ons area.

What an odd apology. Why is this being handled in such a political and clinical way? I'm a person so please treat me as such. When I screw up I say sorry. Would it really hurt to say 'Yeah, sorry, we should have PM'd you'? This feels like saving someone from being hit by a bus then having them sue me for grazes from where they hit the pavement

Any moderator for a community acts on its behalf just as I, as an external company, act on behalf of any company whose clients I contact. From a professional standpoint I should be having this conversation with Kim and I'm intrigued as to why I'm not

You were asked to do something. By the person who pays for the server space on which this forum runs.
And the thing you were asked to do is one of the stated rules. Everyone else does it.
It would take you less than a minute to do this.

It is of course your choice whether or not you want to do this. But if you don't, the thread will be closed and deleted.

Ok I have enabled DPU in the test store and I have doubled checked the error directory to see if the errors returned and they have. Here is what the errors are saying for your reference.

Firstly, thank you all for the support. It's nice to know it's there :smile:

The error above is a bit of an anomaly: it's saying that a scalar variable is being applied to a function that is expecting an array. This error doesn't affect anything on the product page (it won't affect the loading of any other mods) and doesn't affect the actual cost calculation. That said, any error/warning/notification from PHP should be investigated and I'll get onto it and get it sorted

Also, I want to finally quash the discount display problem before I submit this to the Contributions section. I also have to sort out the licence. It's going to be a good few days before I'm able to do this as I'm really swamped at the minute. I will get to it as soon as I possibly can

No rush and no need to apologise for anything after all you are the one doing us the favor with helping us with our issues with DPU! Whenever you get a chance to look at these issues is perfectly fine as I for one appreicate your real job comes first :).

Just wanted to thank you for a fabulous mod! I was having a problem with my site being a little jumpy from a different mod that was using ajax and in addition to the prices looking better, installing this fixed 99% of the weird things the other mod seemed to be causing.

It was my full intention to work on the Updater this evening to bring it up to spec, but unfortunately I've had to devote the time to fulfilling critical work tasks... I do apologise for the delay but it's a little difficult to find time at this moment (as a one man company I have quite a bit on)... I will get to around to this this week (I'm 90% sure)

In the meantime I appreciate and thank you all for your patience
