disabling option values ?

Here is a tricky question, so I will explain it as a working example.

A particular t-shirt can come in different colours (red, blue, green) and different sizes (small, medium, large)

I have created the option names (colour, size) and I have created the option values for these names (red, blue and green for colour) and (small, medium and large) for size.

How can I set it so that if a customer chooses a particular colour (let's say red), they can only choose "small" and "medium" , but "large" is not availaible ?

Kind regards,
Anthony

Re: disabling option values ?

Thanks for that Kobra.

I installed the "Stock by Attributes" mod, and everything seemed to work fine until I made a purchase in my cart using one of the modded products.

When I arrived in my cart at the "main_page=checkout" page, it came up with the following error:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_get_advertizer_list() in /home/xmanhos/public_html/shop/includes/templates/xman/templates/tpl_checkout_default.php on line **215" **

Has anyone had experience with this error before ?

Kind regards,
Anthony

Re: disabling option values ?

Thanks for the reply Kobra.

As I cannot seem to get the mod working properly, is there another way that you know of to achieve the same result - ie. a work around within zen-cart to do the same thing ?

Kind regards,
Anthony

Guess I should have asked the basic questions first...

Are you using Zen Cart 1.3.7 and patched?

Did you apply the sql patch with the mod?

Have you checked your files for any that might be "0" bytes?

This mod is functioning for so many, that I do not believe that it is the mod itself, and no there is not a work around that is at all eloquent....unless you can live with a seperate product for each variable - this is #of attributes X # of attributes

Or 3 colors times 4 sizes = 12 individual products

Re: disabling option values ?

Thank you for the reply Kobra,

I am using zen-cart 1.37

I have installed the following mods:
AusPost 3.02 - with SQL patch
Backup Mysql Plugin 1.2.10
Checkout Payment Module 1.3 - with SQL patch
Direct Bank Deposit 0.1
Optional Shipping Insurance 2b
Time Zone Offset 1.37 - with SQL patch

I did apply the Stock by Attributes SQL patch first, before uploading the files.

I just checked then, and none of the files that were uploaded with this mod were 0 bytes.

Do you think it has something to do with the mods that I have already installed ?

Thanks,
anthony

Re: disabling option values ?

Looking quickly, and relying on my failing memory, these mods do not look to be one that might have altered files that are the same file name - but you can check them yourself and if there are corresponding files that are part of the mod you will have to merge the alterations between them into one combined file.

Re: disabling option values ?

Thanks for the reply Kobra.

I have downloaded WinMerge to merge the files.

Once I have got the two files (one on the left and one on the right), how do I actually merge the files into one ?

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: disabling option values ?

Were there like files in these mods?

You should only be comparing mod files to each other that are the same files.

If there are then you need to go over what lines are different and possibly do a 3way with the 2 mod files and the default file to select those lines that have been changed from the default and hope that between the mods that there are not changes to the same lines (not by number but by function)

As long as the alterations only affect different areas/lines/functions you can concantenate(copy changes) these into one file and use it.

Re: disabling option values ?

Thank you for all your help Kobra.

Yes, the files that are modified by Stock by Attributes:

admin/includes/stylesheet.css
admin/orders.php
includes/classes/order.php
includes/functions/functions_lookups.php
includes/modules/pages/checkout_shipping/header_php.php
includes/modules/pages/shopping_cart/header_php.php

The time zone offset mod has modified 2 of those files above:

admin/orders.php
includes/classes/order.php

So are these the 2 files that I need to merge ?

If that is the case, how do you actually merge them in Winmerge (as far as what do you press with WinMerge to merge the two sets of files) ?

Thanks,
Anthony

Unfortunately, it is not that automatic and like I stated you must review this line by line to see if either of these has altered the same lines of code as you can not normally combine a do this with a don't do this
Lines that are changed but different lines yu just highlight and paste then save...

Make sure to retain copies of all original files first in case
