default_template copied to new folder but now doesn't work!?

I just installed Zen Cart with default everything. It works! I am going to be building a website for the first time with any content management system. I copied the entire classic folder to another with a different name and changed the template_info.php file to a new name and author. When I switch to the new template without editing anything but the template_info.php file the page is completely filled. Instead of the columns taking up about half the page they now take up the whole screen and there is no content in them.

Could someone direct me to information on this or tell me why this is and how to work it out? Thanks.

Turn the side boxes back on - Admin> Tools> Layout Box Controller

Thanks, I didn't know settings would be changed if I only copied the folder over. It must be database information I suppose.

Have a good one :-)

The sideboxes can be set differently for each template. For some template layouts you might want certain boxes on left vs right, or not at all, etc. Hence the need to establish your preferences after selecting a template that you've never used before.
