Using just the Shopping Cart and Checkout

I am setting up Zencart for a website that has just a few products already listed on static pages.

Is it possible to just create "Add to cart" links on the static pages that will then add the products into the Zencart shopping cart? From there I would offer my users the option to continue shopping (taking them back to the static pages) or to checkout. Basically I want to skip over the storefront and just use the shopping cart and checkout.

So is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I hope you get a reply telling how to do this, because I need the same thing. The only added feature I need is the ability for customers to download a digital product with a code supplied after payment is comfirmed.

Sorry folks - that is not the way Zen Cart is designed to work.
